Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone’s life! - Steve JobsVinay C
This is a quote from Steve Job's commencement address at Stanford University in 2005.
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
Managing Digital Footprints - for grandparents (March 2014)Wesley Fryer
This is a presentation shared by Dr. Wesley Fryer on March 12, 2014, at Church of the Resurrection in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The presentation explored what "digital footprints" are, why it's important for parents and grandparents to have regular conversations with young people about their digital footprints, how many misconceptions abound concerning teen use of social media, and what we can do to manage our digital footprints constructively.

This presentation will outline new opportunities to tap the full range of resources and activities that supporters can bring to your organization. Social networks and social media, it turns out, are far better at drawing on the connections and creativity of individuals than at extracting capital.
A presentation I delivered at the Ignite Portugal event in Oporto in July 2010. I decided to record an English version of the original presentation in the form of a slidecast. Enjoy!
A collection of websites that offer inspiring photos. Excellent for use as writing prompts. I do not own the writes to any of the photos. Links are given to each website.
My slides from Agile Tour Toronto 2011 on creating maintainable automation.
Essentially,
- use page objects
- use id attributes rather than structural locators
- implicit waits can help, but are also semi-evil
- don't automate stuff you should not be automating
This presentation shows an incredible collection of photo manipulation art related to nature, photography, objects, illustrations, as well as some abstract and fantasy-related concepts.
Slides from a talk I gave on November 27, 2008 at the 2nd Manitoba EdubloggerCon. Presentation was called "5 Minutes to Make A Difference" and the theme of the night was "Awakening Possibilities."

Here are the slides from the Mindjet Webinar on March 24th, 2009 where I demonstrated how I manage my life (personal & work) using Mindjet and some other tools like Outlook. The slides are not completely stand-alone but you can get a good view at how I use mapping to provide a clear, big picture view of my life and all the details are just clicks away when needed!

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence.
