Lee -respected, responsible, talented Le Chiffrescary, villain, heartless Neytiri – strong yet sensitive, daring, determined Peter Parker – geeky, superhero (challenges the stereotype). Strong M – in control, powerful Hancock -Strong, attractive, alcoholic superhero, has an attitude
2. Men are often represented as strong, powerful, good-looking and clever when they are the hero. However, this is the stereotype. Men can also be shown as slightly ditsy and like Ron in Harry Potter, in a comical way to humour the audience and to make the hero seem even better. Women are often represented as the princess but also can play an important role in the film. Women now are being portrayed more positively, being the heroine or playing an important role e.g. Avatar where Neytiri saves Jake Sully’s life. I liked to use different portrayals of people in action-adventure films, like different age representations to see how they differ.
