The document discusses innovations that will shape retail between now and 2020. It focuses on three key themes: the customer, the store, and omnichannel. Regarding the customer theme, technologies like mobile commerce and social media are both opportunities and challenges for retailers to adapt to changing consumer dynamics. The innovations highlighted will help retailers understand where they can best add value. The only certainty is that rapid change will continue, so this research aims to help retailers be better prepared to meet that challenge.
The role of technology in fostering e commerce business growthSnehaDas60
The retail sector has gone through tremendous changes in the last ten years. We have also seen a significant hike in the growth of e-commerce industries. The industry has recorded humongous sales figures and increased demand.
According to the e-commerce development stats, worldwide e-commerce sales had reached 4.1 trillion U.S. dollars worldwide in 2020, and it will continue this whooping growth with $5 trillion in 2022.
We have to say that that e-commerce potential is undeniable. The industry has helped many businesses as well as the country in boosting economies. Its applications are diverse and encapsulate almost every business and sector.
Let’s see how this technology is fostering e-commerce growth in society,,,
How Starbucks took their experience digitalBen Gilchriest
Since opening its first location in 1971 the company has grown into one of the world's leading speciality food retailers and a brand recognised the world over. With 94% of all Facebook users either a Starbucks fan or are friends with one, 7 million active users of its mobile payment system, and financial benefits that reflect this, it is now considered a digital leader.
However, it hash;t always been the case. In 2008 it faced real challenges with declining sales and a 50% drop in share price over two years. Starbucks’ recipe for success in Digital Transformation has been equal parts technology-savvy and committed leadership. Today, Starbucks continues to leverage these strengths to create value for customers and shareholders alike through digital.
This paper describes, at a high level, what and how Starbucks has realised its Digital Advantage.

Australian Digital Commerce & "The Relational Gap"Ben Gilchriest
Digital Commerce is the Web 2.0 version of e-commerce and covers every aspect of how companies can engage with their customers through various digital channels, including social media and mobile.
This report describes a framework to assess Digital Commerce and explores what this means for the Australian Retail industry. How do Bricks 'n' Clicks compare to pure online players? What is The Relational Gap? And , importantly, how can Australian retailers get value from Digital Commerce?

As our 2016 Retail Future Trends Report revealed, 2016 was once again a year of innovation amid a
competitive time for retailers that are online, offline and moving into the omnichannel realm. Mobile,
as well as data analytics and Internet of Things (IoT), hit home with retailers striving to drive a better
customer experience.
Consumers still are focused on a retailer’s website for product research; however, as this Top 100
report illustrates, they’re also increasingly using smartphones and other mobile devices.
The trends data revealed 35 percent of consumers believe it is very important for a retailer to have
both a brick-and-mortar and online presence. That consumer expectation may be a big reason
Amazon, which again took home the top honor in this Top 100 survey, is moving into the brick-andmortar
realm after over two decades of pure e-commerce strategy.

This annual survey of retail trends from the business innovation team at PSFK Labs captures and contextualizes the early stages of a seismic shift that is changing the face of the retail landscape.
Big-box retailers like Best Buy and Walmart are beginning to feel the heat as sales decline in the face of stiffer competition from e-commerce giants like Amazon. 'Showrooming' is the new reality. Shoppers are more educated than ever before and the ability to check prices on the fly has resulted in increased commoditization and a rethinking of how brands and retailers go about providing a differentiated offering. The pressures that companies like Amazon and Alice.com are exerting on the marketplace have forced traditional retailers to contemplate a multi-channel approach to online, mobile and bricks-and-mortar sales.
PSFK's Future of Retail Report shows that a hallmark of this changing retail environment is the savvier shopper, who takes advantage of technology, is prepared to offer their personal data for a better experience, and has come to expect contextually relevant recommendations. They are actively engaged, want a say in what products get made, will evangelize offerings to get a better price for themselves and their friends, and want to be rewarded for sharing their knowledge and expertise.
In our latest version of the Future of Retail report, PSFK explores the new retail reality, taking a deeper look in the trends that are driving the change in shopper behaviors and expectations as defined by Retail on Demand and the New Brand Champion.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
