10. Is it ever good to mislead? Misleading – giving the wrong idea or impression In the Gauntlet players always say they want to win and talk bigger than their game which falsely leads the team in the wrong direction

Being Truthful In the Gauntlet being truthful has its advantages and disadvantages Advantages: form trusting relationships, alliances, The Gauntlet has a room where players can tell the truth on how they feel about certain players and their performances – without the players being talked about hear or see Disadvantages: dishonest people have to deal with more drama when the truth comes out No one wants to be paired with a dishonest person in a mission because they might not give their full ability Sometimes we have to be blunt in telling the truth in order to let others know how you feel instead of holding back which could lead to mounted tension.
12. Gauntlet vs. Geniuses at work How do we compare? The behaviors demonstrated on the show have no reflection on how we act as a team. Gauntlet A lot of anger towards teammates Trash talking behind each other’s backs Geniuses at Work Get along very well Everyone is completely honest Good team chemistry
13. Is this real life? We have all witnessed this competitive nature at one point in our lives.. A majority of us have been involved in team sports where competiveness has brought out the ugly side in people Group work in school and in the workforce has also given us exposure to behaviors similar to those witnesses in The Gauntlet
14. What we learned We all have the same goal – get an A on this project Every individual can receive the same In the Gauntlet the individuals work has a team and have the same goal – win the money Only the group that wins will receive the money Our tone: calm, clear and understanding – our body language: eye contact, active listening, respectable – our words: correct grammar, clear, complete sentences

About the “ways not to communicate”…Should that maybe be split up into sections of negative types of communication… like:Hostile CommunicationBelittling CommunicationNot Taking Someone Seriously(Not necessarily in those words)And then have the tone, body language, and words sections under each so that we can be more specific? I know this presentation is supposed to be longer than the last one…I would have went ahead and done it but I’m not sure if that would be too much and haven’t quite figured it all out yet in my head so…just something to think about.(You can just delete this before passing it on to the next person, save it, or write your own notes…)
