The International Symposium on Sustainable Food Systems for Healthy Diets and Improved Nutrition was jointly held by FAO and WHO in December 2016 to explore policies and programme options for shaping the food systems in ways that deliver foods for a healthy diet, focusing on concrete country experiences and challenges. This Symposium waas the first large-scale contribution under the UN Decade of Action for Nutrition 2016-2025. This presentation was part of Parallel session 3.3: Empowering women as key drivers of food system change"
USAID, through a program funded by its Horticulture Project and implemented by BRAC, an international NGO, provided training and financial support to farmers in Bangladesh to produce quality seed potatoes. One farmer, Abul Latif Howlader, was initially skeptical but took up the challenge of growing seed potatoes. With instruction and supervision from BRAC staff, CIP and BARI scientists, his yield was highly successful. He was able to earn additional income by selling portions of his crop as seed and non-seed potatoes. As a result of the training and increased income, Latif was able to improve his family's nutrition and livelihood and became a leader in seed potato production in his village.
The document summarizes Ankita Kunwar's daily activities during her practicum from Jestha to Bhadra at Unity for Sustainable Community Development (USCD) in three sentences:
Ankita built rapport with USCD staff, learned about the organization's vision, programs and management, and participated in awareness programs on hypertension in Suddhodhan rural municipality and nutrition promotion programs in Rohini rural municipality that taught mothers about the importance of handwashing and locally available nutritious foods. During field visits to Siddhartha Nagar Palika, Ankita learned how to use CommCare and the e-diary app, participated in FCHV meetings, counseled mothers on
The Kerr Center for Sustainable Agriculture is a private nonprofit educational foundation located 5 miles south of Poteau, Oklahoma that was established in 1985 to promote sustainability. It operates an organic farm and ranch to demonstrate sustainable livestock and conservation practices. The Kerr Center offers educational events and monthly tours, and publishes materials about sustainable agriculture both online and in print.
MBA students of TiasNimbas Business School visited five communities in the Kuntaur region in Gambia. Purpose of these visits was to make a sustainable contribution to the region. The students supported Gambia is Good (GiG), a Gambian organisation that trains growers in the cultivation of vegetables. With more and better training, the communities can increase productivity in their community gardens.
The Good Food Community is an organization that connects consumers directly with farmers to provide affordable, organic produce while promoting sustainable farming practices. Their goals are to promote healthy eating, encourage organic farming for higher returns and more fertile soil, and build relationships between consumers and farmers. Members receive a weekly basket of seasonal vegetables grown without pesticides by partner farmers, and can visit the farms to learn more about their food and the farmers. The baskets, which contain staples and seasonal specialties, cost 350 PHP for 3.5 kg and can be purchased through monthly or quarterly payment plans.

ADRA has worked in Mozambique since 1956 under different names, focusing on development and relief projects. Their Osanzaya Zambezia project from 2008-2014 in Zambezia Province aimed to reduce food insecurity through improving incomes, health, and nutrition. Key activities included establishing 190 mother and father groups who were trained monthly on health, hygiene, and nutrition topics. The groups conducted weekly cooking demonstrations using locally grown crops and shared health messages. Evaluation found reductions in malnutrition, diarrhea, and improved access to water and sanitation.

Cleansing A Waste of Time, or Essential For Healthykate winslet
This document discusses cleansing and provides information on how to do a first cleanse. It notes that no one who has tried cleansing thought it was a total waste of time or money. It then provides instructions for a wheatgrass detox recipe and cleanse routine involving sleep, exercise, massage and following a full cleansing protocol. It emphasizes the importance of starting the day with a green smoothie as the most efficient way to supply vitamins and minerals while cleansing the system. While some medical professionals are skeptical of toxins as an immediate threat, the document notes toxins are causing the body to deteriorate over time.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT or Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that serves a range of roles in the human body. It is sometimes referred to as the happy chemical since it promotes overall well-being and happiness.
It is mostly found in the brain, intestines, and blood platelets.
5-HT is utilised to transport messages between nerve cells, is known to be involved in smooth muscle contraction, and adds to overall well-being and pleasure, among other benefits. 5-HT regulates the body's sleep-wake cycles and internal clock by acting as a precursor to melatonin.
It is hypothesised to regulate hunger, emotions, motor, cognitive, and autonomic processes.

10 Benefits an EPCR Software should Bring to EMS Organizations Traumasoft LLC
The benefits of an ePCR solution should extend to the whole EMS organization, not just certain groups of people or certain departments. It should provide more than just a form for entering and a database for storing information. It should also include a workflow of how information is communicated, used and stored across the entire organization.
