Garden eels live in colonies on ocean floors near sea grass, blending in with their surroundings. They have long, snakelike bodies that come in various colors and patterns, and escape predators by burrowing their tails into the sand. Found in coral reefs, garden eels feed on plankton and small shrimp and fish but are preyed on by other creatures in the reef.
