National Innovation Foundation - India announces the Gandhian Inclusive Innovation Challenge Awards 2012 to challenge innovators to develop solutions to issues faced by women in India. There are three challenges posed: 1) Developing a manual paddy transplanter to reduce the drudgery of transplanting rice; 2) Developing a fuel efficient biomass stove; and 3) Developing a tea leaf plucking device. Prizes of Rs. 10 lakh, Rs. 5 lakh, and Rs. 2.5 lakh will be awarded for the top three submissions for each challenge. Submissions are due by September 30, 2012 and prototypes by December 31, 2012.
