This document outlines a 7-step process for automating a network test lab using physical-layer switches. The steps include: 1) Assessing automation needs; 2) Deciding what to automate; 3) Choosing infrastructure like switches; 4) Choosing a lab management solution; 5) Planning the architecture; 6) Setting the administrative framework; and 7) Integrating with existing automation. The goal is to enable dynamic test beds, shorten test cycles, and improve testing through remote access and parallel tests. Physical-layer switches allow automated reconfiguration to quickly set up and run multiple tests.
Test Environment Management (TEM) is a function in the software delivery process which aids the software testing cycle by providing a validated, stable and usable test-environment to execute the test scenarios or replicate bugs.
Today, top companies leverage automated testing to increase product longevity, reduce costly and repetitive build-out, and improve iteration quality. This whitepaper will provide a brief introduction to automated testing. It will also address the benefits and limitations of automated testing and give an in-depth example of consumer-driven contract testing.
Testability refers to the design parameter which makes it relatively easy to identify and isolate faults in the system. Testability can be considered to be a subset of maintainability, because fault detection and isolation are important drivers in the maintainability of a system

Software bugs can be hazardous and expensive. A developer may have to bear lots of monetary losses because of the errors and bugs in the software. Software testing is one of the most critical and essential parts of the software development cycle. Testing ensures to detect the possible defects in the functionality of a software.

Experiences and details of a high throughput, multi-user, multiple instrument...Mark Bayliss
Screening high volumes of analytical results for quality and consistency of results when it comes to library compound management QC, small to medium automated synthesis support and purification of targets is tedious and costly in terms of required experienced manpower. Our laboratories for analyzing incoming samples are comprised of a heterogeneous array of instrument types and instrument vendors. Our goals at the start of the project were multi-fold. Improve quality of results, reduce the number of false positive results, reduce the number of samples requiring manual reprocessing, and decrease the throughput time from initial QC, purification and post purification QC. Automate the processing of raw data and to create a single consistent output of results that are integrated with our existing inter/intra departmental workflows and corporate infra-structure.
In this presentation we would like to share our practical experiences in achieving our primary goals, some of the challenges that we faced prior to implementing the automated approach and how the new workflow has impacted the departmental workflow in a positive way. Already we have seen the cycle time from initial QC of samples to final QC of purified fractions reduced from ___ days to around 24 hours.
The Business Case for Test Environment Management ServicesCognizant
In the software development lifecycle, application testing is crucial - but often given short shrift by companies allocating temporary resources. Test environment management services (TEMS) is a perfect solution, reducing testing costs and errors while conducting test/QA environment management, monitoring and maintenance and cloud infrastructure provisioning.
DYNAMUT: A MUTATION TESTING TOOL FOR INDUSTRY-LEVEL EMBEDDED SYSTEM APPLICATIONSijesajournal
Test suite evaluation is important when developing quality software. Mutation testing, in particular, can be helpful in determining the ability of a test suite to find defects in code. Because of challenges incurred developing on complex embedded systems, test suite evaluation on these systems is very difficult and costly. We developed and implemented a tool called DynaMut to insert conditional mutations into the software under test for embedded applications. We then demonstrate how the tool can be used to automate the collection of data using an existing proprietary embedded test suite in a runtime testing environment. Conditional mutation is used to reduce the time and effort needed to perform test quality evaluation in 48% to 67% less time than it would take to perform the testing with a more traditional mutate-compile-test methodology. We also analyze if testing time can be further reduced while maintaining quality by sampling the mutations tested.

We propose and illustrate a complete test automation solution based on open source technologies, Fitnesse, Ruby and Watir. This system is web based, and enables a diverse set of project stakeholders to carry out automated testing from anywhere.
Automated Test Equipment’s (ATEs) are integrated systems which automate the process of testing modules, systems, devices or products. Test equipment are generally used to monitor and control the operation of a process or device, verify compliance standards, and detect and mitigate risks.
Advanced Verification Methodology for Complex System on Chip VerificationVLSICS Design
Verification remains the most significant challenge in getting advanced SOC devices in market. The
important challenge to be solved in the Semiconductor industry is the growing complexity of SOCs.
Industry experts consider that the verification effort is almost 70% to 75% of the overall design effort.
Verification language cannot alone increase verification productivity but it must be accompanied by a
methodology to facilitate reuse to the maximum extent under different design IP configurations. This
Advanced reusable test bench development will decrease the time to market for a chip. It will help in code
reuse so that the same code used in sub-block level can be used in block level and top level as well that
helps in saving cost for a tape-out of a chip. This test bench development technique will help us to achieve
faster time to market and will help reducing the cost for the chip up to a large extent.

Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
