Indra Nooyi says…
The distance between number one and number two is
always a constant. If you want to improve the
organization, you have to improve yourself and the
organization gets pulled up with you. That is a big
lesson. I cannot just expect the organization to improve
if I don't improve myself and lift the organization,
because that distance is a constant…
Just because you are CEO, don't think you have landed.
You must continually increase your learning, the way
you think, and the way you approach the organization.
I've never forgotten that.

Indra Nooyi’s Transformational Leadership
Born and raised in India, Indra Nooyi brings a global perspective to
her leadership approach. She is often credited with breaking
through the “glass ceiling” of Fortune 500 leadership. As such, she
believes in paving the way for others to follow in her footsteps. “I
think the glass ceiling will go away when women help other women
break through that glass ceiling. That’s what is really going to
make a difference.”*
Nooyi has utilized her leadership position to ensure equal pay,
respresent women in working world and create a flexible work
environment.
Nooyi recognizes that leadership is not a static condition. Rather,
leadership needs to be flexible and attuned to the needs of the
organization. Under Nooyi’s leadership, Pepsico has been
transformed and is now recognized as a global leader in
sustainability.

More from Indra Nooyi…
The one thing I have learned as a CEO is that leadership at
various levels is vastly different. When I was leading a
function or a business, there were certain demands and
requirements to be a leader. As you move up the
organization, the requirements for leading that
organization don't grow vertically; they grow exponentially.
