require unique methodstolearn.Followingisalistof the most importantinterpersonal skillsan
employeecanpossess.Startdevelopingyourstodaywiththese 7toolsto immediatelyimproveyour
abilitytocommunicate tactfully.
1. Verbal Communication
Yes,as opposedtonon-verbal communication,whichwe’ll addressnext.Withinverbal
communicationthere are anumberof otherskillsthatwe’ll talkaboutlater,too,suchas listening
and questioning,butfornowwe are primarilyconcernedwitheffective speaking.
Effective verbal communicationbeginswithclarity.Thisoftenrequiresnothingmore thanslowing
downand speakingmore thoughtfully.Manypeople feelrushedtorespondtoquestionsand

Havinga well-balancedrepertoire of interpersonal skillswill allow youtohandle anysituationmore
gracefully.Youneedlisteningskillstobalance assertiveness,non-verbal communicationtobalance
questioning,etc.Nobodyisperfectandlearningthese skillswill foreverbe aworkinprogress.Still,
