This document outlines a peer-to-peer (P2P) communication framework developed for the Android platform as an alternative to traditional mobile networks. It discusses the motivation to lower infrastructure costs, proposes a solution using an open-source P2P framework, and recaps the work done including server implementation and literature reviews. The document then covers design decisions around using the Android platform, hardware limitations, and a modified Gnutella network design. It presents implementation results and performance metrics and demonstrates the framework through a demo. Limitations discussed include Bluetooth and dependency on a geo-location server, with future work proposed around Wi-Fi support, optimization, and security.
Distributed Network Monitoring - Interopnet class by NetBeezNetBeez, Inc.
This course provides an overview of distributed network monitoring in modern network environments and describes its benefits and use cases. Referencing the network topology of InteropNet, we will discuss the goals of the installation, review the deployment locations of the NetBeez agents, and explain the configured monitoring tests. During the last part of the session, we will generate reports and analyze in detail the statistics of the performance data captured and processed by the system.

The Ultimate Meeting Professionals Guide to Internet Connectivity
Jim Spellos (Meeting U)
http://www.meeting-u.com/
Ever hosted a meeting/event at a venue whose internet speed made the 90′s dial-up connection seem like fiber-optic speed?! That can be an event planner’s NIGHTMARE – especially if internet connectivity is paramount to your event. Meetings titan, Jim Spellos of Meetings U is going to equip you with all that you need to know BEFORE HAND to thwart the internet boogey man. This session provides an easy to follow overview and understanding of what you need to know and discuss to ensure that your next meeting doesn’t fail due to the presence of essential technology.
Energy Sec. Jose Rene D. Almendras was the keynote speaker at the April 23, 2012 Energy Forum hosted by the Joint Foreign Chambers. He discussed in detail the Philippines' diversified energy mix and the development plans for energy resources. One of the highlights of his presentation involved a summary of the power situation for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao as of April 2012.
A webinar discussing the costs associated with building an internet of things solution with various LPWAN technologies: LTE-M, NB-IOT, Ingenu, Sigfox, and more. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) solutions are also considered.

Highly available and tunable control planes are difficult to build and manage. Is there an alternate way to build a control plane for cloud scale fabrics that will reduce operational expense (coming as close to zero touch provisioning as possible), while allowing the network to be tuned in near real time based on telemetry and application requirements? LinkedIn is currently working on such a control plane, starting from the concept of layering different control plane functionality. This talk will provide an overview of the functional division, consider some tools which can be used to meet each, and the consider the resulting operational profile.
Hello All,
Let's meet and discuss what are the new announcements from Build 2016 and how we can best leverage them in our business!
Here are some of the topics we will cover this time:
- Azure Functions
- Service Fabric
- Azure Storage
- Document DB
- Azure Container Services
- Power BI Embedded
- ASP.NET Core
- Virtual Machine Scale Sets
I will be happy to share my experience from the conference, especially the session I visited and also the conversations I had with various Microsoft representatives.
Azure is developing faster than ever and Microsoft is driving the platform in very interesting direction that require us to know and work with more and more new technologies!
Come and join us to learn more about Azure!
I am arranging the venue but my plan for the meetup is to be on April 25-th or April 27-th from 19:30. I will keep you updated on that!
Thank you!
Kanio

AWS re:Invent 2016: Advanced Tips for Amazon EC2 Networking and High Availabi...Amazon Web Services
In this session, we focus on designing for high availability, with evaluation criteria for using services and features such as Amazon Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, route tables, network interfaces, device clustering, and the Transit VPC architecture. We also explore how to create highly available networking between regions as well as on-premises.
Edge computing has been gaining popularity as it defines a model that brings compute and storage closer to where they are consumed by the end-user. By being closer to the end-user a better experience can be provided with a reduction in overall latency, lower bandwidth requirements, lower TCO, more flexible hardware/software model, while also ensuring security and reliability. In this talk, Abhishek discusses aligning Apache CloudStack with this evolving cloud computing model and supporting Edge Zones, which can be also looked upon as lightweight zones, with minimal resources.
Abhishek Kumar is a committer of the Apache CloudStack project and has worked on the notable features such as VM ingestion, CloudStack Kubernetes Service, IPv6 support, etc. He works as a Software Engineer at ShapeBlue.

Html5 web sockets - Brad Drysdale - London Web 2011-10-20Nathan O'Hanlon
This month we focus in on WebSockets in HTML5 with Brad Drysdale.
You're probably aware of the various chat systems around the web (facebook chat for example) but recently there has been more of a desire for other types of interaction using these technologies. Many have requested talks on Node.js, Comet long-polling, or similar technologies. WebSockets are the evolution of these technologies, and a developing standard being progressed by the IETF.
The HTML 5 standard specifies new APIs for storage, drawing, drag-and-drop, and other areas that have made web programming painful. Browsers have already begun incorporating parts of HTML 5 (canvas, for example) even though the specification is far from complete. The HTML 5 Communication section includes two additional connectivity features: Server-Sent Events, a standardization of HTTP push, and Web Sockets, a cross-domain safe, full-duplex connection. Server-Sent Events will make real-time updates and notifications easy, and Web Sockets provide the functionality necessary to build chat for the web without the previously required hackery.
Come and hear the latest on what this great technology allows!
Brad Drysdale is the Technical Director in EMEA for Kaazing. Brad has also worked at Openwave and Netscape Communications in various pre-sales and technical evangelist roles.

In a recent report by Nielsen, smartphone penetration rate in US is predicted to reach over 50% reaching over 95 millions units in the 2011(Nielsen 2011). A smartphone, is defined here as a mobile phone “that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary feature phone”(Nusca 2009)\n

According to the experimental measurements obtained from the transferring of multiple Image files of 350 - 380 kbytes, we observed that the throughput rate stabilizes at around 54Kbits/s for nodes that are more than 1 mores away from the original node.\n
