The document discusses how businesses can predict future workforce requirements in the face of disruptive forces like digitization and generational trends. It identifies three main trends that are reshaping human resources: every business model is being digitally disrupted, the workforce is taking control through mobile technology and remote work, and different generations require different approaches to technology adoption. The document advocates that businesses understand these trends, be adaptable to change, and create collaborative workplaces for all generations.
Teleworking and flex-office: moving towards mobile employees?Fabernovel
In the digital age, companies have access to tools which allow them to pursue having mobile workers both in and outside of the company. They are referred to as teleworking and flex office.
In 2019, it is no longer a question of whether or not to allow flex office and teleworking, but of how to manage the transition in a way that protects employees and does not interfere with the organization’s performance.“

The document discusses emerging technologies that will impact society by 2030, including robotics, artificial intelligence, virtual/augmented reality, and cloud computing. It states that these technologies will underpin new human-machine partnerships where humans and machines leverage their complementary strengths. Specifically, the technologies will enhance daily activities through coordinating resources and in-the-moment learning. This will reshape expectations for work and require organizations to adapt to the expanding capabilities of human-machine teams.

InfoAxon Technologies uses a "platforming" approach to build long-term business partnerships with customers. Platforming involves integrating various open source tools into comprehensive solutions. This model has led to steady revenue growth for InfoAxon and long-term relationships with customers, with many partnering for 5-6 years or more. Platforming now accounts for 70% of InfoAxon's revenue. The model also generates support and maintenance revenue. While custom development makes up 15% of revenue, it is often used to lead customers to larger platforming partnerships.
This document outlines 10 reasons why B2B companies need social media. It begins by introducing the topic and explaining how social media has changed communication globally. While B2C companies have embraced social media, many B2B companies have been slower to adopt it. The document then provides details on the top 10 reasons, with one reason covered on each page. Some of the key reasons covered include using social technologies to break down communication silos within companies, create a culture valued by all stakeholders, and strengthen corporate brands. Throughout, examples and case studies from companies like ABB are provided.
Chris Meyer, CEO of Monitor Networks, discusses the future of work which is influenced by four unstoppable trends: geographic and economic dislocation due to globalization and offshoring putting pressure on wages in rich countries; automation reducing jobs in manufacturing, services likely to be displaced next; longer life spans and careers requiring life-long learning as skills become obsolete faster; and collaboration technologies leading to more porous organizational boundaries and collective work. These trends suggest the need to rethink management, how and what we work on. The context of work will be radically different from the past.

It explains that problems stem from rejecting Jesus Christ, who came to teach truth and lead mankind to salvation, and stresses the importance of accepting his word in order to abide in peace with God and see him in our lives.
This document provides a preface and table of contents for a dissertation examining critiques of globalization that view it as a process of transnational corporations gaining uncontested power. The preface introduces the topic and scope of the paper, which will investigate this criticism from economic, political, and cultural standpoints. The document discusses the role of mentoring in career development. It defines mentoring as a synergistic relationship where two or more people engage in a process to achieve more than what each could alone. Mentoring involves sharing experience to help mentees develop and advance their careers. Effective mentoring utilizes a contemporary mindset where mentees seek mentors regardless of age or position and mentors act as sounding boards rather than telling mentees what to do. The benefits of mentoring include enhanced training, improved performance, wider networks, and increased self-confidence. Both informal and formal mentoring are discussed as effective approaches.

Collaboration 3.0: 8 trends today that will define our tools tomorrowalexschiff
A lot of talk has been made of trends redefining the tools people use to collaborate and get things done: cloud computing, rise (and ubiquity) of mobile, consumerization of enterprise IT, etc. These aren't "predictions" anymore — they're well-accepted facts, and the opportunities to build large companies on this trend are getting smaller.
So, what's next? What will the third wave (details within) of collaboration look like? To answer that question, I turned to 18 product leaders and executives working in the field and asked, "What are the trends forming today that will redefine the tools we use to work together tomorrow?"
This document summarizes an article about artificial intelligence from The Smart Manager magazine. It discusses:
1) How AI is becoming more advanced through machine learning, computer vision, speech recognition, and natural language processing. These technologies are being applied in many industries like banking, insurance, retail, and IT.
2) Examples of how AI is being used, such as chatbots, image recognition for online shopping, and data analysis tools that generate reports. Sectors like marketing, customer service, and recruiting are utilizing AI.
3) That organizations must adapt to technological changes and adopt AI in order to stay relevant and not become obsolete as AI capabilities continue to rapidly improve.

10 trends reshaping digital - updated Q1 2016Beyond
This document summarizes 10 trends that are reshaping the digital industry in 2016. It discusses trends related to non-traditional user interfaces, virtual assistants, open data, the personal information economy, mobile commerce, the sharing economy, and virtual reality. It categorizes the trends as either "Trends to start thinking about", which are emerging ideas to consider, or "Trends to prepare for now", which brands need to actively prepare for in the near future.
The cycle of innovation and iteration that digital is known for means existing concepts can suddenly find radically new trajectories. In this report, we highlight ten ideas that have been gaining rapid traction, and which will reshape how we digitally interact with the world around us.
This document discusses top apps for small businesses and tips for choosing the best apps. It begins by outlining 5 types of apps: 1) accounting, finances, payroll, taxes; 2) recruiting, onboarding, HR; 3) time and expense tracking; 4) payment processing and billing; 5) internal and external communication. It then provides tips for "dating" apps before committing, such as not rushing into marriage with the first app and establishing your workflow needs first. Finally, it highlights top recommended apps for small businesses: Trello, Canva, Note, Feedly, and IFTTT.
1) The document discusses how mobility has changed the way people work through innovations like laptops, WiFi, smartphones, and tablets. Tablets in particular represent a transformational change and potential replacement for laptops.
2) Choosing the right devices for an organization is complex due to the many options available across different operating systems and form factors. Productivity, security, support, management, and environment must all be considered.
3) Mobile devices have become integral companions for work and personal use. Many employees expect leading technology from their employers and will choose employers that offer it. Top talent demands top tech.
Microsoft needs to adapt to attract startups building $100 million products and services, not just $1 million businesses. However, Microsoft's reputation for competing with companies using its platform discourages many startups from working with them. For startups, partnering with Microsoft requires dedicating 10% of resources to navigating the company, which can be an extremely frustrating experience. Most of Microsoft's startup presentations focus on partnership deals rather than sharing their interests, R&D, and product roadmap.
As the list of technologies grows every day, the world is transforming existing businesses and personal lives. These technologies have the potential to ease people’s lives and improve their personal and business dealings. Companies and individuals who do not follow some of the big tech trends run the risk of being left behind. Understanding current trends will allow individuals and businesses to plan and seize opportunity. One such extraordinary leader who is looking ahead and identifying the most important trends is Peter Freer, the Founder, and CEO of Freer Logic. He strongly advocates that the seemingly impossible can be achieved with the right passion and dedication. Through Freer Logic, he is implementing ideas that once seemed impossible to execute.

million desktop PCs in the world. This is a
clear indicator that the HR systems of the
future must be designed with a mobile first
mindset.

Every business model is
getting digitally hacked (cont.)
Because of our attachment and intimate
relationship with these devices - they are
often the first and last things we touch each
day, the mobile user experience of work
must be upgraded from the clunky standards
that many organisations suffer from. In other
words the mobile UX needs to be as user-
friendly and seamless as the consumer
technology that we have gotten used to -
think Netflix, Evernote and AirBnB for the
workplace.

The workforce is taking
matters into their own hands
This leads to me the second trend that is
illustrative of the disruption of HR - the
fact that The Workforce is Taking Matters
Into Their Own Hands. Young talent
(and older cohorts too for that part) are
mobilising and with the help of technology
are capable of making smarter decisions
contextually, where it matters and when it
matters based on relevant inputs.

Australian employees that use a personal
smartphone or tablet for work grew
from around 40% in 2012 to 51,5% in
20142
. This behaviour is often defined
as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).
The expectations created by consumer
technology on corporate technology, and
the BYOD movement have led to what is
called the Consumerisation of IT.

While these trends are clear signs of a
mobilising workforce, we can also observe
that the whole interface of work has
upgraded. Work is no longer a place you
go. While remote work is not new, today
it’s easier than ever to decide how and
where you want to work thanks to faster
broadband, omnipresent wifi, and phablets.

Automattic, famous for creating
wordpress.com and WooCommerce, is
a great example a company that has a
thriving remote work culture. Their team
which consists of 400 people across
40 countries primarily use a chat and an
internal blog called P2 to communicate
with each other.
The blog has its own version of Google
Alerts which help employees to stay on
track with updates without being forced
to read everything. These two tools are
seamlessly connecting Automattic’s
employees from around the world and
enabling creative teams.

Technology adoption and adaptation
across the generations
The third idea is that organisations
must think creatively about innovation
and change management in the way
they design for technology adoption
and adaptation. In Australia Gen Ys are
surpassing Baby Boomers as the largest
workforce cohort; today there are around
6.1 million in the Australian workforce and
by 2020 they are predicted to dominate
the labour market, making up 42% of the
workforce, according to a report by the
recruiting firm Hays.

Technology adoption and adaptation
across the generations (cont.)
As we see things, as these trends unfold
we will likely continue to experience
friction between the Gen Ys and
other generations in the workplace, a
development which is fuelled by the
disparities in ways of communicating and
of course technology-usage.3

Technology adoption and adaptation
across the generations (cont.)
Organisations must put more effort into
getting their employees comfortable
with technology and in order to do so
they should create an environment were
collaboration across generations is
encouraged and rewarded. One way to
work with rewards is gamification which
is defined as the application of certain
elements of game mechanics and game
design techniques to encourage people to
achieve their goals.

Technology adoption and adaptation
across the generations (cont.)
Big companies like Cisco have benefited from
gamfication solutions in the workplace. Cisco
wanted to develop their employees’ social
media skillset so therefore they launched
a global social media training program,
and in order to encourage them to finish
the different coursers in the program they
introduced different types of certifications.
On top of that Cisco launched team
challenges which helped incentivise
employees into earning even more
certifications and as a result of this 13,000
courses have been completed and 650
Cisco employees have been certified.4
