2. First, I started at the top of
the page with the
masthead, using a red
background as this fits my
colour scheme, and white
text, which will be the
largest text on the screen,
in white to stand out from
the red background.
3. Next, I added my positioning
statement underneath the title
in the masthead, which reads
‘THE UKs LEADING INDIE
MUSIC MAGAZINE’. I did this in
black with white text as black,
white and red is my chosen
colour scheme.
Then, I used another black
rectangle shape at the
bottom all the way across,
adding one of my cover
lines ‘PLUS! CATFISH AND
THE BOTTLEMEN IN TELL
ALL INTERVIEW’.
4. Then, I added my main image,
which is the biggest thing on the
page and will draw the attention
of the reader. My model is
wearing black which matches the
colour scheme and also relates to
the main cover line.
After this, I added my cover
lines on to the side of the
magazine, which frame the
page. They are in a mixture
of black and red so that the
text doesn’t look boring and
all the same colour
however it still matches the
colour scheme.
5. Next, I added my main cover
line ‘I HATE BEING FAMOUS’
‘LUCY ROBERTS’ ‘4 PAGE
INTERVIEW SPECIAL’ to on top
of the image. I used the same
colours as previous in order to
stay in line with the colour
scheme.
Lastly, I added the finishing
touches including the bar
code in the bottom left hand
corner which has the date
and issue number, plus the
price. I also added a black
rectangle underneath the
word ‘EXCLUSIVE’ which
makes it stand out more to
the buyer.
