Installation Instructions
Thanks for purchasing Front Air Dam Protection Kit for Model S and Model X. Please read these
installation instructions in their entirety BEFORE you attempt to install.
The Air Dam Protection Kit for Model S and Model X has been designed to protect your front air dam
from scratching caused by curbs or small debris on the road surface. At the same time, it provides a
lower, more aggressive look for the front of your vehicle. We’ve created Installation Videos for both
Model S and Model S that can be viewed on the product page at evannex.com. We strongly
recommend that you view the appropriate video BEFORE you install the Front Air Dam Protection Kit.
IMPORTANT: The Front Air Dam Protection Kit has been designed for DIY installation. However, if you
are uncomfortable with a DIY installation for any reason, we strongly recommend that you have the
installation performed by a competent professional automotive installer.
An Important Note on RETURNS:
Once the red protective film has been removed from the air damn protection strip the product can
no longer be returned for credit or exchange. The reason for this is that the product cannot be reused
or resold.
Therefore, please be certain that you’re satisfied with the look and style of your Air Dam Protection
Kit BEFORE you remove the red adhesive backing from the protection strip. You can accomplish this
using masking tape to temporarily hold the piece in place or, if you want an even more realistic
preview, you can use double-sided masking tape to temporarily affix the piece(s) to assess the look
and style.
Stated as succinctly as possible, once you remove the red adhesive backing from the protection
strip—no returns and no credit can be offered.
Quick Start Installation Steps:
Note: Please be certain to install the Front Air Dam Protection Kit when the temperature is at
least 72 deg. F (21 deg. C)
Tools suggested: Small scrub brush, hair dryer, scissors
Step 1. Clean the lower air dam hard plastic surface thoroughly, first with soap and water using a
small scrub brush. Be sure to rinse the surface thoroughly and allow to dry. (No moisture can be left)
Step 2. After drying, wipe the same surface with isopropyl alcohol. Wait at least 5 minutes to ensure
that the surface is dry.
WARNING: DO NOT skip steps 1 and 2. It is critically important to have a clean, dust and particle free
surface BEFORE you begin installation. Failure to do so will cause poor adhesion of the Air Dam
Protection Kit.

Step 2. Peel about 12 to 18 inches of the
red protective film from the back of the
air dam protection strip. Using a hair
dryer, heat the adhesive to activate it
(about 10 seconds is sufficient) and then,
starting on the passenger side press it
into place. Be sure to leave 2 or 3 inches
of excess strip beyond the end of the air
damn surface. This will be trimmed later.
Please see the appropriate video for
guidance on the proper placement.
IMPORTANT: Be certain to press and hold
the end of the adhesive firmly for 10 to 20 seconds to ensure good adhesion on both the passenger
side end and later, the driver side end of the air dam.
Step 3. Peeling about 12 to 18 inches of the red protective film as you proceed, heat each un-taped
section and apply the protection strip, being sure to mold it to the underside curvature of the air
damn. Please see the appropriate video for guidance on the proper placement. Be sure to press and
hold firmly as you install protection strip along its entire length, with extra emphasis and time spent
on the driver and passenger side end of the air dam.
Step 4. Once the protection strip is fully adhered to the bottom of the air dam, use a scissors to trim
the ends. For Model S, we recommend a diagonal cut (see the Model S installation video). For Model
X a horizontal cut works well. The final decision on the type of cut is yours.
Step 5. Go back and press firmly each section to secure the adhesive. You may want to press and
hold each section for several seconds, especially the ends, or where body dips occur.
Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours, avoiding water during that time.
Your Air Damn Protection Kit is now ready for use.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ON PRODUCT WARRANTY. If properly installed the Air Dam Protection Kit
should provide carefree usage over a long period of time. It will not become detached during normal
usage. However, if you inadvertantly (and often, unknowingly) make low speed contact with a
concrete parking barrier, you may loosen and/or damage the protection strip, causing it to become
detached. Air Dam Protection Kit is NOT warranteed for damage or detachment caused by low speed
impact.
