TEMA 3: FRISBEE
1. HISTORY:
This sport was born in the USA. There were a tipical cake that had a base
made of metal, “Frisbee Pie Company”. A group of kids, after eating the cake,
started to throw each other the base, creating a new game. After World War II it
became very famous between students.
Since 1950 a toy factory started to make discs made of plastic. They called
this disc “FRISBEE”.
In 1967 “ULTIMATE” rules were created. In 1974 the first “Ultimate World
Championship” was celebrated in California.
2. THROWINGS:
2.1. Depending on the grip (agarres):
• Classic grip or backhand

• Thumb inside grip
• Three fingers grip or forehand
3. FRISBEE RECEPTION:
3.1. Two hands receptions:
• One hand above an the other one under the disc. (Sandwich)
• Both hands hold the external edge of the disc.
3.2. One hand receptions:
• When the disc arives over the waist

• When the disc arrives under the waist.
4. COMPETITION MODALITIES:
4.1. Skill Games:
• Distance Throwings: the player has 2 minutes to throw the frisbee
4 times. The player who reaches the longest distance adding
these throwings distances.
• T.R.C. (throw, run and catch): it consist on throwing the frisbee,
run and catch it before it touches the floor. The player who reach
the longest distance win.
4.2. Ultimate:
• Players: 7 per team.
• Field: 100m X 35m.

• Duration: 2 periods of 25 minutes at máximum. When a team
gets 21 goals the match finishes. When one team gets 11 points
both teams change the side of the field.
• Objective of the game: a team, passing the frisbee, has to carry
the frisbee to the opponent Goal area. In this case the team gets a
goal.
• Basic Rules:
o The player with the frisbee can not run with it.
o The player with the frisbee can not hold the disc more than
5 seconds.
o Ifthe frisbee falls down to the floor, the other team wins the
frisbee posession.
