The school received 430 trees from the Woodland Trust that will be planted this week to attract wildlife. Students from various grades will help plant the trees in designated areas. Trees are important as they produce oxygen, clean the air and soil, provide shade and cooling, and serve as habitat for animals. Throughout the week, students will participate in activities like planting friendship trees, adding messages to the trees, designing posters about caring for the trees, and creating a leaf tree mural about qualities of friendship. Their work will be used in a future assembly about the tree planting and friendship.

2. As a school we have been very fortunate in receiving 430 trees from the Woodland Trust. This pack of trees is specifically designed to attract wildlife to our school.On Wednesday and Thursday this week all children in our school plus children from the Nursery and some High schools will be planting these trees together.

9. Things you will be doing this weekPlanting trees with friends from your class. Adding a friendship tag to each tree. This will be a message to a friend or a wish for the futureDesigning Posters – ask people to care for our trees. These will be added to a fence next to the wood area.Creating the leaves a tree of friendship in the corridor , each one of you will design a colourful leaf with a quality that make a good friend. Whole class art work or poetry around friendship .

10. Throughout the week members of the assembly committee will also be filming the different activities. They will be asking you what make a good friend, how we can become better friends.
