• We decided to set the film at my house as it is
a typical family home and that is what we
wanted for our film.
• We filmed the majority of the film in my
bedroom as that is where the bride would be
getting herself ready for her big day.

• We used dressing gowns for the bridesmaid
and the bride at the beginning of the film, then
the bride got changed into her wedding dress.

5. Camerawork and editing
• We edited some of the shots so that they are
darker in light and colour. The reason we did this
was because it was too light in colour and
brightened up the mood when actually the mood
of the film shouldn’t be happy as it’s focused on
domestic violence.
• We used a range of different camera shots during
the film and used them for different reasons. For
example we used close ups to show different
emotions and expressions on people’s faces, we
also used a high angel shots to show the
unimportance of someone.

• The font type we used was Script MT Bold.
This was because we wanted to use a fancy
font as it is right for a wedding.

7. Story and how the opening sets it
up
As our film is based on domestic violence, it wasn’t easy
to come up with a storyline so we decided to base the film
on a wedding day. By doing this we shown the first part of
the film of the bride and bridesmaid getting ready at the
bride’s house. We then introduced the abusive relationship
by Katie (the bride) asking Alissa (the bridesmaid) to
leave whilst she gets herself dressed as she didn’t want
her to notice the bruising she had all over her body. We
then introduced the abusive partner ‘Edward’ by him
coming in and helping Katie get ready once Alissa had left
the room. We thought this would be a way of showing the
relationship isn’t normal as on a wedding day the groom
isn’t supposed to see the bride until she walks down the
isle.

8. Genre and how the opening suggests
it
The genre of our film is a drama. In the opening
of our film, it doesn’t clearly show that the film
is based on domestic violence, it isn’t until it gets
closer to the end that the audience notice the film
is about an abusive relationship. Throughout the
film we drop little hints that the film is about
domestic violence as this is what drama based
films do.
