thGAP - Transgenic Human Germline Alternatives Project, presents an evening of input lectures, discussions and a performative workshop on artistic interventions for future scenarios of human genetic and inheritable modifications.
To begin our lecturers, Marc Dusseiller aka "dusjagr" and Rodrigo Martin Iglesias, will give an overview of their transdisciplinary practices, including the history of hackteria, a global network for sharing knowledge to involve artists in hands-on and Do-It-With-Others (DIWO) working with the lifesciences, and reflections on future scenarios from the 8-bit computer games of the 80ies to current real-world endeavous of genetically modifiying the human species.
We will then follow up with discussions and hands-on experiments on working with embryos, ovums, gametes, genetic materials from code to slime, in a creative and playful workshop setup, where all paticipant can collaborate on artistic interventions into the germline of a post-human future.

Topic: Instruments
Type of Documentary- This will be a mixed documentary with narration and
interviews.
Style of Documentary- This will be informal to make it light-hearted. The English
vocabulary will be non-formal to make it appeal to a wider range of people and
more entertaining to watch.
Channel & Scheduling- The programme will be broadcast on a Thursday on
Channel 4 at 9pm. We have chosen a later time in order to broadcast it after the
popular documentary show ‘Educating Greater Manchester’ this will draw more
people in to watch it due to the popularity of the other show. The later time
additionally allows more of an adult audience to see it.
Target audience- Our target audience will be both Male and Female who are 18 or
older.
Primary research needed- We will need to find interviewees and we can do this
through looking at bands or organisations on social media. Additionally, locations
and cutaways need to be researched and found that are relevant to the topic.
Secondary research- Statistics and quotes from professional musicians will be
researched online to use in the documentary
Narrative structure- This will follow a non-linear structure and be open with a
multi-strand presentation. This allows the documentary to focus on a large number
of areas within music and not be too general.
Outline of content- Content will include advice from people who play instruments
for people who are just starting, Interviews with music stores, Interviews with a
wide range of people who play different genres of music, interviews with music
teachers, bands, and instrument retailers
Resource requirements- High Definition video camera for filming, tripod,
microphone, PC, Adobe Premier to edit documentary, Digital SLR camera for
photos, Adobe Photoshop to edit advertisements and a radio studio to record the
advertisements.
