Addressing the Main Issue
This human services agency will strive to provide assistance in terms of welfare, rehabilitation, housing and accessibility to health for those who need critical medical attention. These are problems that are irregularly distributed in the targeted population due to disparities in the economy. The agency will strive to address these problems by using three main approaches. The first approach is to directly help the victims through well-trained employees in the agency. Through a well-designed recruitment process, the agency will seek to hire competent individuals who will be able to advance the agency’s objectives and goals directly to members of the community. This will help to address a greater proportion of the problems targeted by the agency.
The second approach is to use affiliated institutions to make specific services accessible to victims within the society. For example, patients who require medical attention but are not privileged or are not able to afford these services will be facilitated by the agency to get help from healthcare institutions affiliated to the agency. Additionally, for families which cannot get sufficient food to support their siblings, the agency will coordinate with government food provision programs to ensure that these families are considered and fed. The nature of partnerships in this case will be determined by the type of problem the agency is trying to correct or address. The third approach will involve sensitizing the community and members of the society to assist in different ways to support the court5se of the agency or cultivate the spirit of collectivism (Schmid, 2004). Agency Reflection
I visited Touchstone Mental health which is an organization that helps people suffering from mental illness. The organization helps clients recover from mental illness as well as imparting them with the basic skills necessary as the clients get incorporated back to the society ("Professional Development | Touchstone Counseling Services Inc."). The organization employs professional clinical sociologists who help in providing care to its clients. The main source of funding is through donations from well wishers.
As an organization dealing with mental illness, touchstone mental health offers significant opportunities for the mental health workers to improve their knowledge as well as skills. It does this through providing classes, structured intern training programs and helping families undergoing transition from divorce ("Professional Development | Touchstone Counseling Services Inc."). Therefore, the organization was a good place and gave me an opportunity to develop as a social work student and professional.

For the Agency Visit paper, I visited Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. “Saint Luke’s Health System is a faith-based, not-for-profit, aligned health system committed to the highest levels of excellence in providing health care and health-related services in a caring environment. [It is] dedicated to enhancing the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the diverse communities [it serves]” (Saint Luke’s Health System, 2015a). This hospital branch “offers extensive inpatient and outpatient services,” as any hospital usually does, but also includes 3-D mammography services, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), minimally invasive surgery and the da Vinci surgical robot, and is a Level III Trauma Center (Saint Luke’s Health System, 2015b). While the hospital is capable of serving all ages, the surrounding community is primarily of retirement age. Nearby is the John Knox Village for senior living. Michelle Wales, the social worker I interviewed, pointed out that the patients, generally, are entitled and have “suburban” issues, although the number of uninsured is increasing (personal communication, January 29, 2017).

These are problems that are irregularly distributed in the targeted population due to disparities in the economy. The agency will strive to address these problems by using three main approaches. The first approach is to directly help the victims through well-trained employees in the agency. Through a well-designed recruitment process, the agency will seek to hire competent individuals who will be able to advance the agency’s objectives and goals directly to members of the community. This will help to address a greater proportion of the problems targeted by the agency.
The second approach is to use affiliated institutions to make specific services accessible to victims within the society. For example, patients who require medical attention but are not privileged or are not able to afford these services will be facilitated by the agency to get help from healthcare institutions affiliated to the agency. Additionally, for families which cannot get sufficient food to support their siblings, the agency will coordinate with government food provision programs to ensure that these families are considered and fed. The nature of partnerships in this case will be determined by the type of problem the agency is trying to correct or address. The third approach will involve sensitizing the community and members of the society to assist in different ways to support the court5se of the agency or cultivate the spirit of collectivism (Schmid, 2004). Agency Reflection
I visited Touchstone Mental health which is an organization that helps people suffering from mental illness. The organization helps clients recover from mental illness as well as imparting them with the basic skills necessary as the clients get incorporated back to the society ("Professional Development | Touchstone Counseling Services Inc."). The organization employs professional clinical sociologists who help in providing care to its clients. The main source of funding is through donations from well wishers.
As an organization dealing with mental illness, touchstone mental health offers significant opportunities for the mental health workers to improve their knowledge as well as skills. It does this through providing classes, structured intern training programs and helping families undergoing transition from divorce ("Professional Development | Touchstone Counseling Services Inc."). Therefore, the organization was a good place and gave me an opportunity to develop as a social work student and professional.

For the Agency Visit paper, I visited Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. “Saint Luke’s Health System is a faith-based, not-for-profit, aligned health system committed to the highest levels of excellence in providing health care and health-related services in a caring environment. [It is] dedicated to enhancing the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the diverse communities [it serves]” (Saint Luke’s Health System, 2015a). This hospital branch “offers extensive inpatient and outpatient services,” as any hospital usually does, but also includes 3-D mammography services, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), minimally invasive surgery and the da Vinci surgical robot, and is a Level III Trauma Center (Saint Luke’s Health System, 2015b). 2 Other ways of communicating love are seen in specific behaviors. You engage in significant self disclosure. There is more confirmation and less disconfirmation among lovers than among either non lovers or those who are going through romantic breakups. Consequently, you tend to agree with your loved one's views and defend his or her beliefs. You're highly aware of what is and is not appropriate to say to the person you love. You know how to reward, but also how to punish, each other. In short, you know what to do to obtain the reaction you want.
3 Non verbally, you also communicate your love. Prolonged and focused eye contact is perhaps the clearest nonverbal indicator of love. So important is eye contact that its avoidance almost always triggers a “what's” wrong?” response. You also have longer periods of silence than you do with friends. In addition, you display affiliative cues( signs that show you love the other person), including head nods, gestures, and forward leaning. And you give Duchenne smiles- smiles that are beyond voluntary control and that signal genuine joy. These smiles give you crow's- feet around the eyes, raise up your cheeks, and puff up the lower eyelids.
4 You grow more aware not only of your loved one but also of your own physical self. Your muscle tone is heightened, for example. When you're in love you engage in preening gestures, especially immediately prior to meeting your love, and you position your body attractively- stomach pulled in, shoulders square, legs arranged in appropriate masculine or feminine positions. Your speech may even have a somewhat different vocal quality. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
