What is Pinterest?
Pinterest is a social media network that enables people to share their interest
through pictures, places, videos and articles. Pinterest launched in 2010 but it wasn’t
popular that time but nowadays it’s the most popular marketing tool in US and in
Europe. Statistics shows that Pinterest is 21% more popular than Twitter among
Internet users. According to studies 80% of Pinterest users are women from the
Midwest and they are behind Pinterest growth.
How it works?
Users can upload their pictures from their computers, or pin it from a website or re-
pinning it from users. Users can add these pins to their boards, which are like a
collage that have a common theme. Users can like, pin, comment or share peoples’
content, users can follow friends and they can follow a specific board that they have
interest in. As well as that people can invite other people to pin stuff on their boards.
Choosing Pinterest
I’ve created a Pinterest account to market my campaign to raise awareness about
kid’s obesity. I chose Pinterest because it’s engaging, visually appealing and it’s the
next big social media because it’s user friendly and fun to use. As well as that there
are lots of options and potentials on Pinterest. It’s different from Instagram, it allow
people to see all the pictures in the same order that the account user created them
and the picture don’t go down and forgotten by people the boards are available for
everyone to see them.

Until now I’ve 11 boards, 317 pins and 61 followers.

1. Healthtips board
The first board includes original pictures taken and designed by me and the
purpose of this board to give parents tips about how they can help their kids
get rid of the obesity. The pictures shows different activities and health tips
that will encourage kids if the saw other kids do them and they are happy by
doing them.
2. Healthy food board
The first thing to do after deciding to lose weight is to replace the bad food
with healthy food. Kids are hard to deal with so this board has special ways of
introducing the healthy food to kids by decorating the food and making it

interesting to eat. As well as that this board contains different tips of how to
include kids in the cooking process to make them like the healthy food.
3. Healthy smoothies board
Smoothies are a trend now everyone loves smoothies. There are million ways
to create healthy delicious smoothies. I created this board to help parents to
find a recipe that suits the kids. Smoothies are good idea because parents can
put different intergradient together and kids won’t recognize what’s inside it.
It’s also a good idea to make kids help in blending because it’s fun process.
4. Best activities 4 kids board
This board is about kid’s activities, I created this board because kids
nowadays don’t do any activities they play with they technological devices
and they forget about going out and doing different activities with their
friends it all bout technology now. There are fun activities that kids don’t
know that they exists, by showing the kids picture of kids playing these
activities they’ll be curios to try them.
5. Lose weight board
In this board there are pictures of obese kids who are trying to lose weight by
eating healthy food and doing activities with their parents. I created this
board to motivate kids and parents to start losing weight and be healthy, it’s

a hard thing to do but when the parents encourage and help their kids it will
be easier.
6. Before &after board
In this board there are pictures for people who were obese and they fight it
and they have a healthier body now. This board contains pictures of different
people kids, men, women and celebrities to show parents and kids that
obese could happen to everyone and by following the right steps they can get
rid of it. This board shows people that there is hope and they can do it.
7. 23 steps tolose weight board
I pined these photos from Wiki How website because I found them very
helpful and visually appealing for kids. In this board I have 23 pictures that
describes easily how to lose weigh in sample 23 steps.
8. Inspiring words board
This board is about motivational words and I personally believe that these
words give people strength to continue fighting. I created this board to
support people and to help them take an action and change their kids lives.

9. Health infographics board
This board contains infographics about health and how to stay healthy. I
created this board because infographics are visually appealing, full of colors
and have different useful information and statistics.
10.Health= Happiness
I created this board to show people how being healthy and having a healthy
body will make you and your kids happy. This board contains pictures of
health habits, healthy fruits and information about how they help us to have
healthier life.
11.Creative kids activities
This board is about creative hobbies for kids. As we all know that kids now
have plenty of free time and they don’t spend it doing useful things so they
eat because they are bored. By filling kids times with new hobbies they’ll
have time to open their imagination and create innovative and amazing
things and lose weight.
