God alone has the power to lift people up or bring them low. Through patiently waiting on God and maintaining righteousness, one can receive divine promotion, not through nepotism, favoritism or other improper means. Hannah experienced this when despite being taunted, she cried out to God and He remembered her, lifting her out of her situation. These prayer points are aimed at bringing "the God who elevates" into one's situation, so that like Hannah, one will be lifted above reproach through God's power.
