5. Concept: A line Follow the line to explore your environment. Follow the line with your eyes, feet, hands… A trail, defined by where the line travels, and how. A trail, modular in nature, extended each year. Blueprint Proposal: to begin the line

9. From a line on the ground to a line in the sky: a path becomes a rope with which to to suspend and display from above. Hanging objects: reflective elements artworks display systems

Blueprint Workshops: Trails Materials The line must: Be durable Be weatherproof / evolving with the weather Be safe to follow, trace, climb on, explore… The line can also: Contain light catching elements, to attract the eye and reflect / respond to the environment Carry text, objects, artworks, textures… Travel over, under, through, objects it meets Celebrate and embed Isla identity within the fabric (landscape or building) of the school Three initial proposals for the application of appropriate materials and processes follow:

11. Proposal 1: Hardwearing enamels Varnishes / resins to achieve a glassy finish Reflective shards, natural objects, aggregate etc mixed or suspended in the resin mix. Painted onto pre-cut strips of wood or metal Or directly onto - or into - concrete paving, tarmac, whin dust etc. Isla Site: line embedded in existing paving
