Project proposal title and date:
Mod Subculture Documentary
The main area of activity:
I am going to be creating a documentary using footage I have collected
Rationale:
Throughout my time in college, I have learned how to use several new programs, mainly
photoshop. I will use these skills to create a poster for my documentary, and perhaps some other
advertisement approaches.
I have also learnt how to use premiere pro; this is what I will use to edit my entire documentary and
I would also like to create an advert for my documentary.
In the previous project, I investigated animating a logo with our website name on it, this is a useful
skill for video as I can reuse it. I plan to make one of these for the current documentary and include
it at the end and the start.
Project Concept:
I am going to create a documentary on mod subculture in the UK and what impact it had when it
was at its peak. I plan to cover information on music, films, and documentaries. I am going to
research existing products and see how the music has been integrated and how the information is
told. To make my final project as good as I can make it, I plan to travel to Margate, a hotspot for
mod history. This will help me to further understand the importance of what happened in the
uprising of the mods and rockers. I will also be able to get some first-hand knowledge on people’s
experiences growing up around it, and how it affected them and the places around them.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will create self-reflection forms throughout the project, this will be a list of questions based on the
work I am currently creating. I will add questions such as ‘What has been completed today?’ and
‘What do you plan to complete next time?’. I will also create a production schedule before I start
production, this will keep me more on track as I have something to refer to.
By doing this I will be able to stay up to date as the workload will be planned out weekly, and a
daily plan will be set for me every day, if I fall behind this I know that I could fall behind, therefore I
will ensure I stay focused.
After the project is finished, I will create an in-depth evaluation focusing on every aspect of the
project, such as my research and final video. This will be a good way to learn how I can improve in
the future.
