This culture was seen as an
immoral culture with men who
often beat their wives after
drinking.

worried about women being
empowered with careers and lives
outside the home.Their main focus
was on the family life, not public
life.This was unlike many women’s
groups that wanted women to be
equal to men in all aspects of life.
Prohibition
The 18th amendment made it
illegal to sell, produce, distribute
alcohol. It did NOT make it illegal
to drink alcohol.
