Personal Branding Moodboard
Creating moodboards is one of my favorite forms of
expressing my ideas in a visual format, especially when
working on branding and marketing projects. This
moodboard was created using Illustrator for a
Professional Development class assignment. I aimed
for a beachy and calming feel that I hope to translate
into the rest of my work and into my personal style and
brand as a designer.
When working on any project, I place a strong focus on
mindfulness and intentionality. This helps me to
connect on a deeper level with my users and audience
and to create products, illustrations, brand visuals, and
user experiences that contribute real meaning to the
world and to the people that I create for. I also value
sustainability and I believe strongly in designing for a
more eco-conscious society and world.
Digital Illustration
I created this digital illustration for a Computer Aided Design class using the Photoshop pencil tool. The drawing was traced over a photo that I
took while studying trend forecasting and illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia over the summer of 2019.
Digital Illustration
This digital illustration was created using Adobe Illustrator for my Computer Aided Design class. It was based on a photo that I took from the
top of the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington. I used an assortment of brush types, sizes, and colors to create a painted appearance. I love the
juxtaposition in this piece, as some brush strokes appear very organic and realistic, while others appear somewhat geometrical.
Fashion Illustration
The first part of this project was created
using Adobe Illustrator. I created a
repeating pattern using shapes and
colors and then applied that pattern to
an illustration that I created of a chunky
heeled boot. This involved layering the
pattern over the illustration and
creating lines and boundaries to
determine where each layer was visible.
The second part was assembled in
Adobe Photoshop and involved
converting the repeating pattern that I
made in Illustrator to a pattern in
Photoshop that could be applied and
size adjusted over an actual image. I
also chose to fade the pattern into the
image to create a more realistic
rendering of the boots that I designed.
Fashion Illustration
This is the second part in a three-part series of
digital fashion illustrations that I completed
for my Computer Aided Design class. The first
part was created using Adobe Illustrator. I
designed a repeated stripe pattern and
overlaid it on a set of pants that I drew using
the Illustrator pen tool.
The second part was created by converting my
Illustrator pattern into a pattern in Photoshop
and overlaying it onto a photo model. The
colors look slightly different in the photo than
they do in the illustration, due to the fact that I
consciously chose a photo with a colored pair
of pants and that color remained visible under
the layer with the pattern. I adjusted the
coloring by using the opacity tool on the top
layer, which gives the pants a unique vintage
look with a slight blue hue.
Fashion Illustration
The last part of my project is a two-piece denim
outfit featuring a jacket and a matching skirt. I
focused on creating realistic seams in my digital
illustration for these pieces and I adjusted the
pattern to be offset at each seam in order to give
a realistic rendering of how fabric would actually
appear on a constructed garment.
The photo overlay shows how the pattern and
pieces would look as finished garments.
Blending the pattern into the shadows and
creases in the photo adds an extra level of
realism that helps to fully picture this as a real
garment.
UX/Product Design Moodboard
I created this moodboard as a visual representation
of the direction of a UX Design project revolving
around childcare networking. This project was for a
design class that focused heavily on user experience
and empathy research and I aimed to make that
aspect abundantly clear through a very
human-centric moodboard. The project that I was
working on was built around resource sharing and
my topic specifically was childcare resource sharing.
I wanted to create a product or service that was
child-centric and inviting for parents to share
resources and information surrounding local
childcare options. On the visual side, I focused
mainly on creating a playful and welcoming color
palette that I decided would work best for branding
a child-centric product or service.
UX/Product Design Concept Poster
After extensive empathy research, brainstorming, and prototyping, I arrived at a solution that I was excited to
share with my design class. According to the parents and childcare providers that I interviewed and shared my
ideas with, most people prefer to find childcare and childcare jobs through word-of-mouth networking. They
believe it is more reliable than most job sites and they tend to have more trust in the people that they are hiring
when they have heard good things about them from someone they already know. My final product is a
networking service that involves classroom lists, Facebook groups, and in-person networking events that allow
parents to find reliable childcare options in their area. Families are able to connect with one another to share
information and resources as well as with potential childcare providers looking for work. Families in new areas
or who move often, who normally have the most difficulty finding reliable childcare, will have the opportunity
to find childcare through this program at their children’s school or through other community platforms like
libraries and churches.
In order to share my idea in a finalized visual format, I created a concept poster that outlines the function of
the product as well as shows the visual branding aesthetic that I would choose moving forward. It features the
name of my product, “Grapevine,” the tagline, “childcare networking made simple,” and a brief summary of its
intended use and features.
Thank You!
