This document outlines the influences, initial designs, and research done for a floating city project. It explores using jellyfish as inspiration for the city's structure and using genome sequencing to store the population's data. Research included data center design, data visualization, and camera/lighting techniques from films like Interstellar. The goal was to test different lighting designs for the floating city.
This report is a part of the Bachelor of Architectural Technology and Construction
Management education for the 3rd semester. The purpose of it is to give me the opportunity to
investigate different areas of the constructing architect’s work in the construction industry.
During my summer holiday I read a book named FLOAT!1 , it is about building on water,
and I was really fascinated about the information in it. I wanted to find more about this subject,
and this report is not only the perfect approach for that, but it will help gain more knowledge
about making reports and collecting data as well.
I find this “new technology” very interesting and I think we really need to make some
changes in the construction industry due to the effects that it has upon the environment.
Overview of the vision, projects and people of DeltaSync. At DeltaSync we work on developing floating cities. For private and public organizations we deliver knowledge, creativity and results in practice. Examples are technology integration, design, implementation, planning, business cases and strategy of floating urban developments.

Colorado Technical University's Doctor of Management Fall Symposium Workshop, presented on October 10, 2009.
This presentation discusses the impact of emerging media for social change, global communication and provides an overview to several technologies, tools and the web science research initiative. References are available at the end of the presentation.
This was prepared for my presentation on April 29, 2009, before Dr. Leonard Kleinrock spoke via webcast to my students USC Upstate [in Spartanburg, SC.] I was unable to share it, but I wanted to share my research and enthusiasm I have for one of the greatest technologies - the Internet.
Great design isn’t about beauty; it’s about knowing the right questions to ask, uncovering the right places to look, and agreeing on the right problems to solve.
At ThoughtWorks Live Australia 2016, Stephanie Rieger (Director of Design & Strategy at Yiibu) talked about three mindsets that combine design, business strategy, and technology to drive growth and embed experience design within your organisation.
Presentation for a Tailor made Hyper island Master Class workshop in Februari 2010. Topic was whether there is any truly great digital advertising out there yet and to start a discussion about what matters in that space.
A Visual History of the Next Big Thing...and how to see The Next One comingPrimal
In business, vision isn’t some mythical ability to see the future. It’s about being able to recognize a pattern and apply it to something new, before others see it coming.
In this presentation, we’ll introduce you to one such pattern, the incubation of new media within old media. We’ll then review some examples of how the pattern has repeated itself over the past 30-years, from one Big Thing to the Next.
We’ll then apply the pattern in the here-and-now, to see how it points to The Next Big Things.
Petra Stellam was a project undertaken by me and 4 other animation students as one of our first projects. in this we explored colour and were confined to using "halloween" palates to create atmosphere and to tell a story.
thGAP - BAbyss in Moderno!! Transgenic Human Germline Alternatives ProjectMarc Dusseiller Dusjagr
thGAP - Transgenic Human Germline Alternatives Project, presents an evening of input lectures, discussions and a performative workshop on artistic interventions for future scenarios of human genetic and inheritable modifications.
To begin our lecturers, Marc Dusseiller aka "dusjagr" and Rodrigo Martin Iglesias, will give an overview of their transdisciplinary practices, including the history of hackteria, a global network for sharing knowledge to involve artists in hands-on and Do-It-With-Others (DIWO) working with the lifesciences, and reflections on future scenarios from the 8-bit computer games of the 80ies to current real-world endeavous of genetically modifiying the human species.
We will then follow up with discussions and hands-on experiments on working with embryos, ovums, gametes, genetic materials from code to slime, in a creative and playful workshop setup, where all paticipant can collaborate on artistic interventions into the germline of a post-human future.

Editor's Notes
A lot of our influinces were natural shapes often including pods. We were thinking matrix the entire time.
I took the pictures!!!!!1
Experimental ideation. - cryosleep, floating on water, underwater, pods
40,337.75270 terabytes of storage to hold the genome of every person in belfast.
one genome= 146.612GB
people generate a massive amount of stuff just by existing within a society. With 280,000 people in belfast there is so much material things that need to be accounted for. In one year we breath enough air to fill St Peters basilica 924 times.
One person has roughly 5.009kgs of blood and with an estimate of 280,962 people living in belfast, this makes the total blood weight approximately 1,407,338.658kgs or 1407.339 metric tons
That’s a lot of shit to worry about. So lets be efficient.
We liked it but the natural shape had too many polygons to be efficiently worked with.
so we went back to the drawing board and started thinking about more man made and industrial look.
We found an artist called Beeple who’s style heavily inspired the final look of our city. we also looked at infographics that were layered over film.
Alot of the camera movements were inspired by shots of space stations in movies. specifically solaris.
