More and more clients are continuing to expand their OneStream investment by radically changing the way they collect information. Given the many ways it's possible to store comments, supporting detail, attachments, etc. OneStream continues to allow users to centralize and streamline their entire close process.
As a continuation of the previous "What's Possible" webinar, we explore the possibilities for collecting "non-numeric" financial data. Find out how companies are using OneStream to efficiently collect and report on:
Supporting Detail - I see a number in OneStream, but what's the detail behind it?
Adjustment Commentary - I want to know who's making an adjustment, when they made it and why?
Supporting Documentation - Where can we store attachments and supporting files that are required for compliance?
User Sign Offs and Questionnaires - Where can we ask questions and collect responses that are required for compliance?
Variance Commentary - why is a number up or down over time or compared to budget?
Bridge Analysis - what's driving the change versus a prior period or versus budget?

Finit solutions getting the most out of hfm - web data forms tips and tricksfinitsolutions
One of the great features in HFM is the ability to create web data forms in which users can enter data directly, without the need for account mappings, journals, or Smart View sheets. These web data forms can be designed in ways that provide very tight security and control over the data that users can enter into HFM. At the same time, the web data forms can be formatted to be very user-friendly and intuitive, so that users find the process simple and easy to follow.
On September 15, you will learn about the pros and cons of using HFM web data forms versus other methods of getting data into HFM, such as data loads, journals, Smart View, and data grids. We will talk about the considerations for each method and why web data forms may or may not be the right choice for various types of data. We will also discuss ways in which data entered via web data forms can be ‘protected’ during iterative trial balance data loads, so that the data entered via web data forms is not erased when loading a trial balance data file in ‘Replace’ mode.
During this webinar, you will also learn some of the more advanced design, formatting, and functions for web data forms, including:
SCalcs
Dimension / member overrides
Colors / fonts / general formatting
Dynamic row expansion
Exporting / importing from Excel
Opening web data forms in Smart View

Finit solutions getting the most out of enterprise - 6.5.1 and the extracti...finitsolutions
Hyperion Enterprise is widely and successfully used by many companies for consolidations, reporting, and analysis. Oracle continues to support Hyperion Enterprise and to enhance its features and functionality with each new release. At the same time, Oracle has also created a utility that may help companies accelerate a conversion from Hyperion Enterprise to Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
You will learn about the new Extraction Utility in Hyperion Enterprise. This utility enables you to extract your Hyperion Enterprise metadata, lists, journals, data, and logic in formats that are compatible with other consolidation products, such as HFM. Although the Extraction Utility is not intended to be a turn-key solution for upgrading from Hyperion Enterprise to HFM, it may provide a ‘starting point’ for some companies as they begin their conversions.
In addition to the Extraction Utility, you will also learn about other new features and functionality in Hyperion Enterprise 6.5.1, including data drill-back to FDM, enhancements to the backup/restore utility, and sort/search features in Hyperion Enterprise Reporting.
Getting the Most Out of EPM: A deep dive into Account Reconciliation Managerfinitsolutions
Since its introduction in version 11.1.2.2 Oracle Hyperion Account Reconciliation Manager has become one of the fastest growing products in the EPM suite. Join us to hear about how clients are realizing the benefits of real-time visibility into the account reconciliation process while ensuring consistency across all reconciliations. We will discuss the standard ARM functionality, some of the customizable features that can greatly enhance your account reconciliation process, and the features that are being planned for future releases.
Getting the Most out of EPMA: HFM Managing Metadata with EPMAfinitsolutions
Whether you previously used Hyperion Enterprise or managed a classic HFM application, moving to EPMA provides many benefits (but also has unique tricks you should know about!). In this webinar, we will review many of the enhancements that EPMA can bring to metadata management, such as:
• Shared metadata among different products or HFM applications within the same environment
• Comparisons of changes between what is loaded and what you are about to load
• Renaming a base member without losing previously-loaded data
• Enhanced features to identify and exclude orphan members
• Audit trails of metadata changes (“Who changed THAT attribute?” “Um, YOU did!”)
o Some do not always see this as a good thing, but auditors like it…
Of course, there are also a few areas we’ll cover to help you understand some limitations with EPMA and some possible workarounds to certain issues, including:
• Needing to be online to work within the web-based tool
• Must view validation error notifications one at a time on web compared to in a single text file
• Some additional complexity due to more features being available to use
Managing metadata with EPMA is what is being taught in Oracle’s HFM Administration training classes, and we hope that after attending this webinar, you will also discover some benefits to using EPMA with your current or future applications.

Oracle Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) is an integral part of the EPM suite used by clients for loading data to Oracle Hyperion applications throughout the world every day. It has been the tool relied upon over the past decade for consistency, reliability and accountability in collecting financial data. With the FDM Adapter Suite comes the Oracle ERP Integrator (ERPi). ERPi enables FDM users additional integration to seamlessly load metadata and data from select ERP systems to their EPM applications. This works with the core FDM application to allow the benefit of integration with FDM drill back for Oracle general ledgers, as well as drill back from Planning, Financial Management, Financial Reporting, and Smartview through ERP Integration Suite or FDM to other source General Ledgers.
This webinar will introduce you to ERPi, how it might be implemented to work with the core FDM application and other EPM applications. We will cover the following:
Overview of ERPi
Architecture
Data Flow

Finit solutions he terminal release webinar feb 2012 finalfinitsolutions
The rumors have been circulating for years, but Oracle recently confirmed that Hyperion Enterprise, one of the most popular financial consolidation and reporting applications ever released, has been placed on controlled availability. Hyperion Enterprise Release 6.5.1.1 is the “terminal release”, which means that there will be no additional versions or patches going forward. Premier Support for Enterprise will end in April 2013; Oracle will continue to provide Sustaining Support indefinitely.
On February 24, Finit Solutions will address this news and provide recommendations and guidance for companies currently on Enterprise. While this is a major announcement, there is no need to panic. Finit will provide relevant information to help you understand your options (one of which is to stay on Enterprise beyond April 2013). A fact-based, carefully considered approach is a great way to minimize risk and ensure that you make the right decisions for your company. Some of the topics discussed will include:
What does ‘controlled availability’ mean?
What is the difference between Premier and Sustaining Support?
What are the risks associated with Sustaining Support?
In addition to Sustaining Support, are there any ‘supplemental’ support options available?
Should we upgrade to 6.5.1.1?
The webinar will also focus on developing a plan within your organization for moving forward in light of this news. Considerations will include:
Sharing this information within your organization and discussing internal policies regarding product support.
Understanding dependencies on third party products and their impact on your Enterprise environment now and in the future.
Assessing the current functionality and usage of your Enterprise applications to determine requirements for moving onto a different product.
Balancing controlled availability, requirements, and budget to determine the timeline for moving off Enterprise that makes the most sense for your organization.
Oracle’s latest major release of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite of applications is the Fusion Edition, and it contains a number of important new features and tools. In Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) specifically, there are some significant enhancements over the System 9 releases that will greatly improve your organization’s ability to perform tightly integrated and controlled consolidation, reporting, and analysis in these tools.
Oracle Premier Support for Hyperion application release 9.3 will expire in January 2012. Premier Support for release 9.2 expires in June 2010, and Premier Support for all earlier versions has already expired. Therefore, if your organization has not already upgraded to the Fusion Edition, you will want to begin learning about the improvements in Fusion and planning an upgrade strategy for your organization.
This webinar will include discussions of:
New HFM features and functionality in Fusion Edition, including Enterprise Performance Management Architect (EPMA) and Calculation Manager
New FDM features and functionality in Fusion Edition, including ERP Integrator for connecting into source ERP systems
Migration options for upgrading existing applications to Fusion Edition
Technical considerations for upgrading to Fusion Edition, including hardware requirements and environment design
Project planning and implementation strategies for migrating to Fusion Edition
By staying on top of the latest features and functionality available, you will continue to get the most out of your EPM applications and continue to provide your organization with faster, more meaningful information for reporting and analysis.

Finit solutions getting the most out of hfm - intercompany matching and eli...finitsolutions
If you are using HFM for consolidations, then you already know that it is a powerful and complex tool that can vastly improve the analysis and reporting capabilities in your monthly consolidation process. However, one element of HFM that companies often do not use to its full potential is the intercompany matching and elimination functionality. In many cases, companies simply have not had the opportunity to develop a full understanding of all the intercompany features, and have therefore opted not to use them.
In this webinar, you will learn about the metadata and security features that can enable you to take full advantage of HFM’s intercompany matching and elimination functionality. We will discuss how the intercompany dimension, the value dimension, and the account and entity dimensions interact to perform intercompany matching and eliminations at the appropriate levels within your entity structures. You will learn how to analyze intercompany eliminations using data grids, BI+ Financial Reporting, and system intercompany matching reports.
By fully utilizing HFM’s intercompany features, you will not only make your consolidation process much more efficient, but will also provide valuable, detailed intercompany information to both end-users and management. The availability of that intercompany detail can drive critical management decisions and can greatly increase the value of your HFM applications within your organization.

Before hybrid mode capabilities were available, multiple cube solutions that blended the power of block storage (BSO) and aggregate storage (ASO) cubes were often used to provide the most efficient Essbase solution. These solutions allowed developers to utilize the robust calculation capabilities of BSO along with the rapid aggregation capabilities of ASO. With the availability of hybrid storage mode, these multiple cube solutions can now be simplified into a single hybrid cube.
In this webinar, Dennis Hogan will present:
A case study to:
Determine the impact of using hybrid storage and how it addressed key concerns of a 2 cube solution
Determine how the hybrid approach will optimize performance
The process of converting one multi-cube solution into a single hybrid cube

Finit how to let go - enterprise archive appsfinitsolutions
Hyperion Enterprise was a great finance tool that revolutionized corporate consolidations and reporting. For some, Enterprise was so great that it's still very hard to let it go!
You may have converted from Enterprise to HFM or OneStream years ago, but you still have 5 or 10 years of historical data in your current system. A few times a year, your CFO or Tax Department asks a question that you can only answer by jumping back into Hyperion Enterprise.
At the same time, you're getting pressure from IT to shut the Enterprise servers down. The risks and costs associated with maintaining 6 year-old unsupported software continue to grow, your budget is slim to none and the timeline for the project is week or two.
What's an Admin to do?
Webinar Topics:
Archiving Enterprise applications in HFM or OneStream
The Flat App Conversion timeline (this can be converted quickly)
How an Enterprise-to-HFM or Enterprise-to-OneStream Flat App conversion can be completed without a full-scale implementation at very low cost
How an Enterprise Archive brings all the data you need from Enterprise
How to replicate the relative simplicity of Enterprise in a 'flat' application
How to design an application to replace the different ways you're still using Enterprise today
How to avoid recalculating, re-translating and re-consolidating data in HFM or OS to match Enterprise logic
How to migrate and reconcile historical data quickly
Finit formula and business rule efficiency in one streamfinitsolutions
OneStream is an extremely flexible platform and has really been making a name for itself in the CPM (Corporate Performance Management) market. In addition to everything that the software can do out-of-the-box, at Finit we can customize your application to meet a wide range of complex business requirements. The limits of OneStream's flexibility is based more on the boundaries of consultants' / administrators' imagination and rule building abilities than any real constraints which exist within OneStream itself. Inside OneStream XF there are a variety of modules where rules/calculations can reside and there is ample opportunity for configurations to extend your system's functionality. Types of rules which exist are:
Member Formulas
Business Rules
Transformation Rules
Confirmation Rules
Join us for an explanation of the fundamental principles around creating efficient process and business rules and scripts within OneStream as we focus on:
Minimizing processing time
Decreasing manual application maintenance
Data storage
Script development
Additionally, we will explain Data Buffers / Eval Buffers, and then introduce some of the new functionality that has been developed for the 3.7 release of OneStream XF.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

create new ones. Our best recommendation is to use Finit’s
Custom FDM Clean‐up tool which cycles through all the data p y g

stored in a separate directory so that Outbox and Log folders

FDM – Workbench Error MessageThe Finit Solutions SeriesThe Finit Solutions Series
This is a ‘rights’ issue. Since the
Workbench is a Windows Client it
o be c o essage
Workbench is a Windows Client it
actually checks the ‘rights’ of the ID
that logged onto the server to see if
they have ‘rights’ to the FDM Folders, they have rights to the FDM Folders,
not the rights of the ID that is logging
into Workbench. If they do not have
rights to the folders, you will get
error. So you could even be a full
Admin and FDM and get this
error. Recommendation would be to
h IT i th i ht f IDhave IT review the rights of your ID or
have you log on with an ID that does
have full Folder rights.
