This document summarizes a project report for designing and fabricating a prosthetic hand that is controlled by voice commands. A team of 4 students designed the prosthetic hand under the guidance of an assistant professor. The report describes the materials used, design considerations, components of the prosthetic including an Arduino microcontroller, DC motors, Bluetooth module, and an Android smartphone. It also provides the program code for Arduino and the Android application. The report concludes the prosthetic hand has advantages of low cost and being voice controlled but also limitations. It suggests future work could improve functionality.
