1) The document discusses the importance of obedience to Christ as the head of the church. It emphasizes humbly submitting to God's will and dying to one's self.
2) It provides a poem about being a broken vessel that God seeks to remake.
3) It lists the "Clay-Be-Sees" which are characteristics of Christian character building such as attentiveness, commitment, dependability, efficiency, and more. It provides brief biblical explanations for each.
Submission is a loaded topic these days. We don't completely understand what true biblical submission means. Let's look at what Scriptures say about it. Listen to the sermon at http://ottawacoc.org/sermons/402823-submission/

To God All the Glory!
The document is a sermon discussing how all members of the church are equally important and have different gifts to offer. It encourages readers to use their gifts to serve others through ministries like teaching, encouragement, leadership, and showing mercy. Each person's contributions are needed as the church works together as one body of Christ.
Brotherhood of the Cross and Star: love is the key to eternal lifeGeorge Morales
The document emphasizes that total surrender and loving God with all one's heart, mind and soul is the primary commandment, and if followed, would solve all of the world's problems by leading people to sanctify their hearts, refrain from sin, and practice God's teachings of love, mercy, patience and humility. It explains that problems stem from rejecting Jesus Christ, who came to teach truth and lead mankind to salvation, and stresses the importance of accepting his word in order to abide in peace with God and see him in our lives.
11.11.04 the lord's prayer 6th petition-and lead us not into temptationJustin Morris
God promises to provide his grace and strength to resist temptation. When tempted, we should not say that God is tempting us, as God cannot be tempted by evil and does not tempt others. Instead, each person is tempted when their own evil desires drag them away. God promises a way of escape from every temptation. We can take God's way of escape by calling on him for help in prayer or by seeking help from Christian friends.
11.09.30 the lord's prayer 5th petition-and forgive us our trespasses as we f...Justin Morris
The document provides commentary from Luther's Large Catechism on the fifth petition of the Lord's Prayer - "And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." Luther explains that we pray this to recognize our need for God's forgiveness due to our daily sins, and that as God freely forgives us, so too must we freely forgive others who sin against us. He stresses that without God's forgiveness we would be lost, and encourages the use of forgiving others as an assurance of our own forgiveness by God.
This document contains a prayer asking God for wisdom to discern God's way and live justly amid struggles. It then discusses a passage from the book of James about how true religion involves reaching out to help others, not just talking, and how we must love our neighbors as ourselves. It challenges readers to apply pro-life or pro-choice views consistently and with love for all, especially the vulnerable.
The document discusses dedicating one's life to God. It notes that Romans 12:1-2 urges believers to offer their bodies as living sacrifices to God. When dedicating one's life to God, one should (1) offer their bodies, (2) as living sacrifices that are (3) holy and pleasing to God. By doing so, believers are transformed as their minds are renewed and able to understand God's will. Dedicating one's life to God results in benefits, both on earth and eternally with God.

This document discusses the importance of living with an attitude of gratitude as a growing Christian. It says that Christians should be confident in their salvation, disciplined in reading the Bible, committed to their local church, maintain constant joy through the Holy Spirit, and continue in prayer. Living with gratitude is more than just being thankful on holidays - Christians should be thankful in all circumstances because it is God's will. The document provides reasons to be thankful like eternal life, the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, and physical blessings. Christians are instructed to express gratitude to God in worship and prayer, and to others through kind words. They can do this even in trials because God is in control and works all things for good.
The document is an invitation from Pastor David Thompson to attend worship services at the Rossville Church located at 781 Salem Road in Rossville, GA. The pastor encourages people to come as they are and that there is no need to dress up. The sermon focuses on Romans 12 about presenting one's body as a living sacrifice to God and not conforming to the standards of the world but transforming one's mind through renewing it.
Sure You're Mature_Session 8_Looking for God's Willroadsidebbc
Sure You're Mature's session regarding the search for God's Will.
Sure You're Mature was a values formation event for the young professionals of today, and was held at Road Side Bible Baptist Church from December 26-29, 2010. The event was attended by different churches.
The document discusses why Christians are still on earth rather than in heaven. It argues that serving God on earth through spreading the truth of Christianity glorifies God more than perfect worship in heaven would. Christians are called to fervently serve the Lord without being lazy or half-hearted, as their time on earth is short and they were left here specifically for the purpose of serving God and advancing his kingdom through sharing his message.

This document discusses the importance of understanding one's identity as a Christian. It argues that many Christians do not live freely because they do not comprehend who they truly are as children of God. It encourages readers to see themselves as saints, not sinners, and explains that one's actions do not determine identity, but rather identity determines actions. Understanding one's identity in Christ as accepted, secure, and significant is essential to living the Christian life correctly.
Trinity Kings World Leadership(Family): Love and Relationships..."Wisdom is R...Terrell Patillo
God's plan for marriage and family is to love your spouse and respect each other. Making God the center of your marriage and worshipping together will transform your relationship and help it endure. Having strong family and friend relationships is a blessing from God. God offers new beginnings, and lasting change starts from within by humbly seeking God.
Everything has a beginning; a start. Being in the middle of a thing can slow you down, take away some of your verve. Nearing the end, some increase speed to get there while others do whatever they can to put it off. Know where you are in the process and act accordingly.
I. We relate to God through prayer by manifesting humility, reverence, hope, trust, and gratitude. Prayer involves total surrender of heart, mind, and soul to God.
II. When praying, we should have an attitude of dependence on God like children do with their fathers. We should also put our trust in God, who knows our needs, and be persistent in prayer.
III. Prayer involves adoration of God, thanksgiving, acknowledging our sins, and petitioning God as our provider. It is guided by the Holy Spirit and centered on Christ, who is our mediator to the Father.
Paul encourages the Philippians to rejoice in the Lord rather than in earthly circumstances. He warns them about false teachers advocating righteousness through the law instead of through faith in Christ. Paul then describes his own impressive religious background and accomplishments under the law, but says he considers them worthless compared to knowing Christ. He wants to know Christ through sharing in his sufferings and resurrection.

SFC - Clp talk 3 what it means to be a christianChristine Cayona
The document discusses what it truly means to be a Christian. It argues that Christianity is not just a religious system of beliefs, moral system of dos and don'ts, or social/humanitarian system. Rather, the essence of Christianity is union with God through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a relationship initiated by God's mercy and love, not by human works. In Christianity, believers become a new creation and participate in Christ's life. The goal is to seek God's kingdom and not worry about earthly things, as God provides for all needs. As children of God, Christians are brothers and sisters and their real citizenship is in heaven.

Scriptural examples of adoption
Looking at the classic "proof" text for the "once in grace always in grace" crowd: Romans 9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
The Scriptures clearly tell us that the time will come when some Christians in the body of Christ will not endure sound doctrine. All of us ought to separate the precious from the vile, the truth from the error and sound doctrine from fables. We cannot delegate this responsibility to anybody else. To this end we have been freely given the written word of God that by the grace of God through faith in his name we might be lead into all truth through the Holy Spirit.
I hope this series of meditations will help the word of God renew your mind and that you will be ready for the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The document discusses the concept of surrendering fully to God. It argues that surrender is the heart of true worship and defines surrender as completely offering oneself in dedicated service to God. It notes that surrender requires trusting God despite our fears and limitations. Surrender brings blessings like peace and freedom. The ultimate examples of surrender are Jesus and Mary. True surrender means making it a daily habit to continually relinquish control over one's life to God's will.
This document provides details about an upcoming Old Testament Sunday School lesson and contact information for the teacher, Daniel Burgess. It then shares the outline and content of the lesson titled "Happy Is the Man That Findeth Wisdom". The lesson discusses topics like wisdom, trust in the Lord, friendship, raising children, and happiness. It includes several scripture references from Proverbs.
God's purposes for us through the gospel are to be his children, follow and obey Jesus, and become like Jesus. Following Jesus means making him our highest priority and obeying his commands. Becoming like Jesus involves developing Christ-like character through continuously growing in love, faith, obedience, and other fruits of the spirit with the help of God's word and fellowship. The ultimate goal is for our inner being to take on the heart, mind, and character of Jesus.

The document discusses the importance of prayer based on biblical passages. It encourages praying persistently like the widow in Luke, using the Lord's Prayer as a model, and praying in faith that God exists, hears prayers, and answers them. Specific types of prayer discussed are intercessory prayer for others and trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes perfectly for believers when they don't know what to pray for. The overall message is to make prayer a regular practice.
The document provides guidance on effectively sharing one's faith as an ambassador for Christ. It emphasizes equipping oneself with knowledge of other religions and the gospel, encouraging believers to save souls through spending oneself in evangelism. Specific evangelism tactics are outlined, including understanding objections, using Scripture, the Roman Road plan of salvation, and always pointing to Christ as the only way.
Another book containing the Words of Our LORD Jesus to the church. It has prophecies regarding the rapture of the church, how to prepare for that great visitation and the tribulation and judgements that will be after the church of Christ is taken away
The document summarizes a community meeting held by Judson Fellowship. It includes prayers, songs, and a discussion about the meaning of community and serving others. Participants are reminded that according to the Bible, anyone they encounter can be considered part of their community, including enemies. Upcoming events are announced, including a worship prep meeting and a Super Bowl party. The meeting then closes with a prayer.
This document provides an introduction and overview of the blessings that Christians have from God. It discusses that God intends for Christians to be blessed from the very beginning and that every blessing God promised is still available. It encourages the reader to discover all of God's blessing promises in the Bible and to claim them by faith so that they can be blessed in every area of life. Several Bible passages about blessings, such as Psalm 1 and the 23rd Psalm, are explained to showcase how Christians can live blessed lives through finding delight in God's word. The overall message is that Christians have every reason to say "I am blessed" and to greet others in that way as well.
This document provides an order of service for a Presbyterian worship gathering. It includes songs, scripture readings, prayers, and a sermon focused on confessing faith even in troubled times. The service features the Apostles' Creed and elements of communion. Participants are sent out with a blessing to go and serve as God's people in the world.

Saint francis of assisi part 4 death and spiritual legacyMartin M Flynn
Saint Francis of Assisi died in 1226 at the age of 44 after a declining health and suffering from stigmata. Shortly before his death, he dictated a testament emphasizing humility, poverty, and obedience to the Church. After his death, he left a spiritual legacy through his writings praising God and nature. His life and teachings, which emphasized poverty, humility, and spreading the Gospel, contributed to the renewal of the Church.
The document provides information about an upcoming worship service at First Presbyterian Church of Asheville on August 14, 2022. It includes details about the call to worship, hymns, scripture readings, sermon topic, and other parts of the service. It welcomes all people and shares the church's mission of radical hospitality, deep relationships, and shared ministry.
The document provides advice on how to fail in life and how to succeed. It recommends against planning for the future, living for short-term pleasures, blaming others, being negative, and being selfish. Instead, it suggests committing one's life to God, seeking His kingdom, studying the Bible daily, engaging in prayer, being generous, and surrounding oneself with people who live according to God's word. The overall message is that one should fear God alone, delight in Him, and trust and obey His commands in order to succeed in life.
Sola Scriptura holds that scripture alone is the highest authority for Christian doctrine and practice. It asserts that scripture is pure, sure, and inspired by God; it provides illuminating light and joy as God's living and active word; and it is the key to salvation when taught and preached for the instruction of all. When scripture alone is undermined by relying on other authorities or experiences over scripture, or by misinterpreting or not proclaiming scripture, its authority and power are diminished.
God is revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The first reading describes God revealing compassion to Moses. The second reading concludes Paul's letter encouraging unity. The Gospel shares how God sent his Son not to condemn but to save us. The prayer of the faithful asks God to help worship in truth and reject false gods, and for those searching to find God.

Catholic RCIA class Living the Beatitudes.pptxRCBuilder
The document discusses the path to holiness through embracing the Beatitudes and following Christ's example. It explains that holiness involves dying to self and cultivating virtues like charity, humility, and mercy. While the call to holiness may seem demanding, God provides the grace to live righteously through faith, prayer, and community. The Beatitudes offer a model for moral living that confronts choices between good and evil and leads to eternal life.
Wednedsay Night Series - "How People Change", Week 5CLADSM
The document discusses how people respond sinfully to life's blessings and difficulties. It examines passages from Ephesians and 2 Corinthians about not living like Gentiles and having future glory. People tend to respond in "thorny" ways like denial, avoidance, escape, magnification of struggles, hypersensitivity, returning evil for evil, and feeling bogged down. However, Christians should recognize these patterns humbly through God's grace and not become discouraged, as God provides what is needed for change.
The document summarizes key aspects of Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians. It discusses Paul setting a true Christ-like example through thankful prayers, work of faith, labour of love, and steadfast hope. Paul established a tender relationship with believers like a nursing mother or father. He provided a transforming hope by outlining the life, love, and limitless future found in hope. Finally, Paul offered tips on Christian living including alertness, attitudes, and things to avoid.

When and why do we render testimony? When we experience an
unction within ourselves to humbly submit to the desires of our
creature, it is time to die.
In Obe(die)nce…Die to “self” in order to experience the new
birth…If any man/woman be in Christ he/she is a new
creature/creation, behold old things pass away and all things
become new…

Editor's Notes
Here is the riddle of truth to my testimony: I was born of the biological union to my Father and Mother whom I Knew at birth and through out my childhood. However, I am an Adopt-A-Family member.
How is this possible? Well, I am a royal children. Adopted into the Royal Family of God. I have a royal heritage through Christ Jesus our ever loving Savor…
Ask yourself these three questions:
Who is the Great Head of the church? Christ
2) Why do we need to be in obedience to the head? In reverence, acknowledgement and obedience to the creator of good things…Giving honor to God who is the Head of my life….”He” comes from the word Head of the church and that is Christ.
3) When and why do we render testimony? When we experience an unction with ourselves to humbly submit to the desires of our creature, it is time to die.
****Unction - an inward desire to break forth with compliance
-a settle yearning to rise up with sincere conviction
In the center of the word Obe(die)nce, lives a little paradoxical word called DIE! Die to my “selfishness” will in order to experience the life of the new birth…If any man/woman be in Christ he/she is a new creature/creation, behold old things pass away and all things become new… ~2 Corinthians 5:17
Joyce Meyers shared a message once that I had the privilege to hear entitled: “Stay on the Potter’s Wheel or you will end up in Potter’s Field.”
In case you have fallen by the wayside of life, dreams and visions chattered, you’re broken inside. YOU do not have to stay in the shape that your in the potter wants to put you back together again.
You who are broken, stop by The Potter’s House.
You who are weary, stop by The Potter’s House.
He will be the mender of your broken life, my friend, the Potter wants to put you back together again.
Michael W. Smith sings: “Friends are friends forever if the Lord is the Lord of them….and a friend will not say never cause a welcome will not end, although it is hard to let you go into the Father’s hand you know that a life time is not to long to live as friends.”
**The road is long with many winding turns…But I am strong enough to carry Him, He ain’t heavy, he is my brother.
Testimony of Marian Luzts’ “prayer plant”
Marian Luzts, a soldier at The Salvation Army and a part of the women ministry, gave my sister, Denise, a prayer plant….In kindness, she instructed her to make sure she loved the plant.
My sister decide to prep and re-pot the prayer plant and share it with family. As a gift from my sister, I was given a part of the replanted prayer plant.
I took care of the planet and loved the planet as instructed too…
Until one day, I was doing childcare for my sister Denise’s grandchildren and little Sally (aka Tanasia) knocked the planet over and it crushed the praying leaves….I tried to revive it but I was unsuccessful for that plant…
Sally didn’t mean to ruin the plant, she was very young…
Denise decided to give me other gifts to make up for the plant mishap…
She gave me a freezer
She gave me a CD and card
She gave me a “Herby Curby” to roll my garbage out to the curb
She burned me a few Old School gospel CD too
However, the prayer plant like our relationship was not the same after the move to another location in town and the unity of the prayer plant….

I do believe, I found this scripture on one of my father’s business cards after his death:
Proverbs 11:30 states: The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life: and he that wins souls is wise.
*Share the testimony of Jaisa my niece wanting to be in the band and play the instrument that her father plays
Jaisa, it is a brass band and you would need to chose a brass instrument.
*Can I play the drums?
*Can I play the guitar?
*Can I play the piano?
*Can I play the violin?
Mr. John Comfort informed Jaisa, my 7 year old niece, that she would need to chose a brass instrument that she could hold if she wanted to be in the band. Since his own son Mark started at the age of 7, I was excited to know that Jaisa had an interest in being in the band at The Salvation Army too. She has been asking her parents a lot about going to the Corps to be a part of the band practices. With the guidance of the Band Master, Jaisa remembers the experience of be able to conduct the band once during rehearsal. She really enjoyed that memorable experience. Jaisa has been bugging her mom a lot about the band at The Salvation Army. Therefore, she has requested to Mr. Comfort, myself, and her parents that she be allowed to join the band too.
