Compass Group USA is an organization that provides foodservice and support services to corporate cafeterias, arenas, museums, award winning restaurants and other related organizational needs ("Who We Are", 2017). In the Foodservice industry, there are many organizations providing very similar services and products to Compass Group USA. Therefore, Compass Group USA must attract new businesses as well as retain current clients by creating plans or methods to run their daily operations that would allow them to center their business level strategies in a well-rounded environment. The implementation plan will need to review its objectives, find functional tactics, plan and perform action items along with the possible milestones it will need to meet in order to meet the deadlines. This document discusses the importance of vision and mission statements for businesses. It provides examples of vision statements from different organizations and outlines key components that make an effective mission statement, such as defining what the organization is and aspires to be, distinguishing it from others, and stating it clearly so it is understood by all. Research shows that firms with formal mission statements can see benefits like higher returns and that social policy should be integrated into strategic management activities.
This document discusses the importance of vision and mission statements for businesses. It provides examples of vision statements from different organizations and outlines key components that make an effective mission statement, such as defining what the organization is and aspires to be, identifying customers and markets, and conveying social responsibility. The document also notes that while research on the relationship between mission statements and performance is mixed, firms with formal statements tend to see higher returns.
The document outlines a strategy for innovation between AARP Services, Inc. and UnitedHealth Group. It notes that while past efforts at innovation through Innovation Value have yielded incremental improvements, a new approach is needed. The new approach involves selecting priority domains of focus using the Innovation Value Chain model of idea generation, conversion, and diffusion. The goal is to develop high-quality solutions that address member needs and provide business value by leveraging both organizations' competencies.

Strategic Plan Part 1: New Service
Strategic planning is a fundamental necessity that guides a company to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Mission, vision, and values are considered throughout the process since they have a significant influence on the strategic goals of a company in making strategic decisions. As such, it is valuable to form a mission and vision statement that serves as a foundation for effectiveness made by management. The strategic plan will evolve around a new service for The Hanover Group which the mission, vision, and values will be evaluated to align with the new service to capitalize on competitive advantages and strategic direction to ensure innovation and growth in the future of the company.
The Hanover Group
The Hanover Insurance Group provides a broad range of property and casualty products and services to individuals, families, and businesses by partnering with independent agents which together constitute one of the largest insurance companies in the United States (The Hanover Insurance Group, 2016). For more than 160 years The Hanover has provided excellent ratings and has met obligations to its partners and customers in 179 countries.
Financially, The Hanover has increased substantially. In the annual report provided at the end of December 2015, our net income from 2014 to 2015 increased 18% to $332 million. Our success is based on our winning product mix. The company has returned $1 billion to shareholders in dividends and stock purchases and has increased its book value per share by more than 80 percent. The success is pertinent with the company generating 11 percent in operating ROE and growing.
The Hanover continues to grow and is great financial sustainability. “The Hanover has identified and taken advantage of promising growth opportunities, leveraging our deep agency partnerships, in-depth market knowledge, and broad product portfolios.” (Fred Eppinger, 2015) Now, with the release of the expansion of comprehensive coverage to small business owners we have created “industry-leading expanded equipment breakdown coverage" to address the evolving technology risks they face. What is next?

Overview of the organization
The corporate culture of Sobeys is clear with a focus on excellence in fresh food, a commitment to customer service, and highly engaged employees. Sobeys owns and operates more than 1,800 corporate and franchise locations in the Canadian Market. These stores are across all regions of Canada and include numerous banners such as Sobeys, Price Choppers, and Thrifty Foods to name a few. These different banners allow Sobeys to deliver different strategies of having the right products at the right prices determined by whom they compete with such as Wal-Mart as a discounter or Loblaw as a conventional grocery retailer. Sobeys owns 41.6 of Crombie REIT as of 2014, which allows Sobeys to have a strong partnership with a real estate company and continue to develop areas of expansion through capital growth by adding square footage sales. This paper will expand on further details of the real estate resources Sobeys has, what the firm’s plans are for future growth, and how Sobeys are maximizing their store formats to maintain and grow market share (Chevalier, 2015).
The main aim why individuals set up the business organization is to generate profits. Sobeys store has been able to conquer the market structure across Canada, and it can compete favorably with other stores including Walmart incorporations. Sobeys is the second largest food retailer in Canada having more than 260 supermarkets. The company is evolving occasionally as the technological landscape changes. Good management and the ability to retain customers has been one of the major focus of the Sobeys store and the secret of their success that spurns since the 20th century. The food industry is a very tricky industry to invest in, if the operations are not well connected, it can lead to massive losses. The regulations governing food industry are also many that the company is supposed to comply with. The authorities are very strict in implementing these regulations mainly because they have a direct impact on general human well-being.
Sobey's chain of stores is stocked with products that consumers easily relate to. The food industry is customer-based industry thus the need for customer feedback is very high. Without consumers, of course, the company will seize to exist. Ensuring customer satisfaction is one of the key priority of the Sobeys store. Customers always dictate what they want, and before opening a new store in a place, there is the need to conduct effective market analysis to ...

CVS Health is considering expanding into China. China represents a large potential market due to its population of 1.38 billion people and growing middle class. While expansion could increase CVS's revenue and global presence by diversifying its portfolio, there are also challenges. CVS must understand Chinese culture, consumer demands, and the economic, political, and social differences between the US and China. It should also modify its retail outlets and strategy to better serve Chinese customers. With adequate research and preparation, expansion into China's favorable business environment could strengthen CVS's competitive position globally. However, government policies and cultural differences may also impede its success.

Collaborative Marketing Plan Final Draft Instructions
Include the following in your Group Discussion Board Forum:
1. A report with the final Marketing Plan that includes the three previous drafts, attached as an MS Word file. In addition, this final MP must include the following sections:
· Marketing Programs & Financial Projections.
You should review pp. 54–55 of the text for examples of the key issues that should be discussed within these sections of the MP. You will need a comprehensive marketing program, which includes a discussion of: the Product Strategy, the Pricing Strategy, the Promotion Strategy and the Distribution (channels) Strategy.
The last section on Financial Projections should show a 5-year projection of expected revenues. In addition, you should present some type of idea when BE (break-even) will take place. Companies that introduce new products generally do not make a profit in “year 1” because of the high development and marketing costs required to test and launch the product. Obtaining costs will be difficult, but you should try to estimate costs.
· Executive Summary (ES)
Finally, once the MP is written, you will need to write the Executive Summary. The ES is written last but is placed right after the Table of Contents. You will want the reader to see the ES first. if they like it, they may read on. If it does not excite the reader, the MP will likely be discounted. The ES should contain only the most important findings, conclusions, and recommendations contained within your plan.
· The Table of Contents
The Table of Contents contains a list of the major sections of your marketing plan with the names of the group members that participated in the actual writing of each section. This will allow the instructor to evaluate each member’s contribution to the overall group project.
· Appendices
The only Appendix required is a reference list. Keep in mind that data and key information may need citations, but will surely require a reference list. A plan with no references will be considered marginal since information sources add considerable credibility to the ideas in your plan.
Your Collaborative Marketing Plan Final Draft must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Friday of Module/Week 8.

The document discusses 50 potential harmful effects of genetically modified (GM) or genetically engineered foods. Some of the key points made include:
- GM foods represent a powerful new technology that is being introduced without sufficient risk assessments of its ability to harm life.
- Genetic engineering goes beyond traditional breeding methods by transferring genes between unrelated species, creating combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding.
- Many studies with GM foods have shown toxic or allergenic effects, problems with reproductive health, immune responses, and changes to major organs and the gastrointestinal system.
CVS Health 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility ReportCVS Health
Making quality health care affordable, accessible and sustainable is the driving force behind our Prescription for a Better World Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.
It starts with our company purpose: CVS Health is committed to helping people on their path to better health. To ensure we focus our resources in the most appropriate and impactful manner, we continually assess which issues are most material to address.
Each year, we release the results of this assessment in our Corporate Social Responsibility Report.
Now in its ninth year, the report focuses on three pillars that support our strategy: Health in Action, Planet in Balance, and Leader in Growth.
• Through Health in Action, we bring quality health care that is affordable and accessible to our communities.
• Planet in Balance captures our focus on operating an environmentally sustainable business.
• Leader in Growth highlights the value we place on conducting business with integrity.
We invite you to explore this year’s report and share your feedback with us at CSR@CVSHealth.com.
The document discusses the importance of vision and mission statements for strategic management. It provides examples of vision and mission statements from different organizations and evaluates what makes an effective mission statement. An effective mission statement should be broad in scope, generate strategic alternatives, reconcile diverse stakeholders, and be dynamic. It should also arouse positive feelings, motivate readers, and provide criteria for strategy selection.

Introduction
Chick-fil-A is a United States based company operating in the food and beverage sector. Founded in the early 1960s, this company has its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. It registered peak sales of more than $5 billion in the 2013 fiscal year. Currently, it is the largest quick-service chicken restaurant in the nation. The company’s main specialty is serving freshly prepared chicken products, with its major offering being chicken sandwich. The values and vision developed by the company’s founder, Truett Cathy, continue to guide employees’ conduct and values. Currently, the leadership of the company is under COO Dan Cathy. The mission of Chick-fil-A is “to be America’s best quick service restaurant”. It hopes to realize this ambition through strategies such as responsiveness to customer needs, improved employee training, responsiveness to customer needs and more emphasis on quality. According to its Website, the company’s purpose is “to glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us, and to have a positive influence on all those who come to Chick-fil-A”. This report analyzes the strategic cascade of the company, highlights the specific strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat faced by the company and concludes by an evaluation of the internal environment of the firm. The paper also offers practical recommendations that can align employee’s behaviors to the overall strategies of the firm.
Strategic Cascade
Target Market
Chick-fil-A pursues an ingenious marketing strategy that has enabled it to continue registering growth over the recent years. The target audience for Chick-fil-A differs from the usual fast food clientele that normally includes children and teens. The company mainly targets adults between the ages of 18 and 44. According to Lee (2011) many of the target clientele are women. The company also targets customers on the high-income bracket and it strives to reach out to the more educated clientele than those targeted by restaurants in the hamburger market. Lee (2011) asserts that customers targeted by Chick-fil-A are more likely to be in white-collar jobs. Mindful of the aforementioned demographics, the company decided to operate in suburban neighborhoods and malls, as these are the areas where most of its potential consumers reside.
Value Proposition
In order to deliver services that satisfy the needs and wants of the target clientele, Chick-fil-A has emphasized on various components. First, the company’s management emphasizes on some simple rules such as listening to the customers, high quality products and emphasis on impeccable customer care. As envisaged by R.

OPENING CASE STUDY: WHOLE FOODS, Whole People
Whole Foods Market is the largest natural food retailer in the world. With operations located primarily in the United States and also in Canada and the United Kingdom, Whole Foods sells natural and organic food products that include produce, meat, poultry, seafood, grocery products, baked and prepared goods, many drinks such as beer and wine, cheese, floral products, and pet products. The origin of the company dates to 1978 when John Mackey and his girlfriend used $45,000 in borrowed funds to start a small natural food store then named SaferWay. The store was located in Austin, Texas. John and his girlfriend lived in the space over the store (without a shower) because they were "kicked out" of their apartment for storing food products in it.
In 1980, Mackey developed a partnership with Craig Weller and Mark Skiles, merging SaferWay with Weller's and Skiles's Clarksville Natural Grocer to create the Whole Foods Market. Its first store opened in 1980 with 12,500 square feet and 19 employees. This was a very large health food store relative to others at that time. There was a devastating flood in Austin within a year of its opening and the store was heavily damaged. Much of its inventory was ruined and its equipment was damaged. The total losses were approximately $400,000, and the company had no insurance. Interestingly, customers and neighbors helped the staff of the store to repair and clean up the damage. Creditors, vendors, and investors all partnered to help the store reopen only 28 days after the flood. With their assistance, Whole Foods survived this devastating natural disaster.
Whole Foods started to expand in 1984 when it opened its first store outside of Austin. The new store was located in Houston, followed by another store in Dallas and one in New Orleans. It also began acquiring other companies that sold natural foods, which helped to increase its expansion into new areas of the United States. In 2007, it expanded into international markets by opening its first Whole Foods branded store in London, England. (In 2004, it acquired a small natural foods company in the United Kingdom, Fresh & Wild, but did not use the Whole Foods brand until opening its new store in London.) It also acquired one of its major U.S. competitors, Wild Oats, in 2007. It now has more than 54,000 employees in about 280 stores with annual sales of $7.95 billion. Thus, Whole Foods has become a major business enterprise and the most successful natural and organic food retailer in the world.
MANAGING HUMAN CAPITAL
Whole Foods Market has done a number of things right, thereby achieving considerable success. Yet, many people believe that one of the best things it has done is to implement an effective people-management system. Each Whole Foods store employs approximately 40 to as many as 650 associates. All of the associates are organized into self-directed teams; associates are referred to as team members. Each of.

The company aims to meet diverse customer needs through affordable prices, a global presence, and a wide variety of products. However, McDonald's also faces weaknesses like past scandals and public relations issues. Going forward, McDonald's can capitalize on opportunities in growing markets and lower labor costs in some regions. Threats include increased government regulations and commodity price rises. Overall, McDonald's balanced scorecard shows financial progress and many satisfied customers, demonstrating that its strategies have been largely effective.

This paper will cover Part 2 of the marketing plan for Heartland Comfort Care (HCC). An explanation on the professor’s feedback, the strategic branding methods for marketing, and an analysis of the primary and secondary target markets will be covered. The paper will also explain the position statement, give a perceptual map and an explanation of consumer’s behavior for the desired target market. The company’s mission statement will be the impelling force that drives the market plan. “To deliver the best care every day for every patient with the commitment of compassionate, holistic healing from healthcare professionals that are dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable healthcare. To deliver patient-centered services that give hope to all patients and the understanding that wellness is healing”.
The introduction of the company’s and the mission statement were suitable as well as the direction where the company will be heading in the future. The description of the services were also adequate but I need to provide a more thorough approach on how I intend to implement them relative to marketing. Some of the focus areas that I received guidance to make changes on are, the rationale for some of the choices and a more thorough explanation of the competition and my plans to stay ahead and be profitable. Another recommendation was to perfect the SWOT analysis with realistic rationales to each of the elements along with a sound foundation (Keller, Dekimpe, & Geyskens, 2016). The suggested feedback is presented in the body of the paper to improve the marketing plan for HCC.
Branding
HCC strategic branding plan will include the health and recuperation or improvement to prior health states of our clients. The mission statement focuses on health and functionality improvement in getting the client to a better state of health before the insult. With our dedicated team our clients’ benefits from advanced research and implementation of new modalities that are proven to work supported by evidence based practice. Branding strategies is the plan of action utilized by companies to set them apart from the competition. It is a long-term design that companies use in order for clients to recognize their product with the anticipation of the services and the products that they offer (Hussain, 2019). For instance, companies such as Chick Fill A, Coca Cola, Popeye’s have brands and logo that consumers can expect the same products all the time, from the staff uniform, customer service, menu, and taste of products. This fulfils the three components of branding emotional effect, consistency, and purpose (Business Insider, 2018). HCC is providing a pathway for clients to have the ability to function after health setbacks. The care team at HCC is confident in thei ...

Each of.
McDonald's has achieved success through strategies that attract and retain customers.

Part B: Marketing Plan
Daniel Hernandez
MKT 500 Marketing Management
Strayer University
Dr. Alex Onukwugha
November 12, 2019

In a 1-2 page Microsoft Word document, discuss the following case study:
When Alexander and Deborah married, Alexander owned a duplex in a community property state. They lived in one side of the duplex. They saved their money and bought a lake lot as tenants by the entirety. Deborah failed to pay the loans she took out from Savings Bank prior to her marriage to pay for college. The bank claimed the duplex, the lake lot and their savings.
Discuss the likelihood of success on the bank's claims against the properties.

It’s easy to dismiss the works from the Dada movement as silly. Cons.docxlmelaine
It’s easy to dismiss the works from the Dada movement as silly. Consider the art that was popular at the time, however. These “silly” works were a violent protest to the realism and impressionism of the day. Check out “Entr' acte", 1924, directed by Rene Clair” on YouTube, if you can, for an excellent example of Dada.

The pointlessness of the action is the point! I still crack up at the end even seen it hundreds of times.
Think: what does Dada do that realism cannot? What’s the value of a movement that breaks all the rules? What did Dada contribute to the progress of art and film?
Remember, post before WEDNESDAY and three times during the week because you must contribute three postings over the week for full credit. Please write more than 50 words for your first response to my question.

What Dada can do that realism cannot is make humorous, chaotic assemblage of events. The value of a movement that breaks all the rules is a non-traditional valued movement. The Dada anti-art movement had a strong negative and destructive element. Dada writers and artists were concerned with shock, protest, and nonsense. Dada contributed to assemblage, collage, photomontage and the use of ready-made objects. The inclusion of sound in art, the incorporation of found objects in a work of art, and the concept of improvising as a performance options were all substantially important to not only the development of music, but more specifically the development of electronic music.

The art of film is very dynamic. Dada was a great way to show how it was used. I know watching the film showed so many scenes and object so, it made it very helpful to understand the meaning of Dada.
Posted by Anya Walker at 06/18/13 05:59
Dada is hilarious to watch. The artist is able to show realism by having creative scenes that was part of the anti-war movement era. The objective of using a technique called collage was used by combining different type of scraps that was part of illustration to be viewed in different scenes. Dada contributes to the art of film by having music being played while watching the film. Also, surrealism was introduced to show a type of chaotic way of using humorous scenes in film.

Very well written. For some reason I read and read the article on Dada in the book and couldn't quite get it. So I read a few articles from the Internet to fully understand what the Dada movement was. Even with breaking all the rules they were able to contribute to the art.

It could be a symbol of the city of Florence (and by association of the Medici's identification with the city of Florence) or it could be a metaphor for the nature of love. Case Study: Wobbly Wheels (WW) Distribution Company
Overview
WW is a regional transportation and distribution company in operation for over 60 years. The company serves major cities in the Mid-Atlantic region. They are headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware and have a staff of 400 employees including truck drivers. There are 6 distribution terminals (Philadelphia PA, Baltimore MD, New York City, Washington DC, Newark NJ and Wilmington DE) for consolidating freight, and 100 delivery vehicles including 20 tractor/semi-trailer units, 40 box trucks and 40 panel vans.
The company operates in a highly competitive business environment. Growth has been stagnant because of a slow economy. John, the president of the company, would like to see growth at 5% per year. He would also like to see expenses cut by 5% to help fund new initiatives. Current revenue is about $39 million a year with profit running at 4%.
Current Business Operations
WW operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sales personnel (12 people, two per terminal) visit prospective customers to outline company capability, services provided and costs. When a customer decides to use WW they call the dispatch office with shipment information. Usually they FAX a copy of the bill (s) of lading to a terminal with information such as origin, destination, product description, weight and number of packages.
A dispatcher at a terminal makes a list of freight pickups and sends a truck to get the freight. To do this they use the routing system to determine the sequence of pickups by zip code. They use local maps within a zip code to map out the specific order of pickups since there may be several in a zip code area. They have a performance goal of 98% of freight picked up within 24 hours of availability.
A driver follows the dispatch order for pickups. Many of the drivers complain that the pickup order is not efficient. When they pick up an order they sign for receipt and either load the freight or guide the customer’s forklift operators to arrange it properly in the truck.
After freight is picked up it is brought to the terminal where it is unloaded and sorted by destination. A dispatcher then prepares a delivery ticket (again using the routing system) that is used to load a truck in the proper sequence for delivery. Some trucks take freight from one terminal to another while others make local deliveries. About half of a terminal’s space is used on any given night. Dispatchers have a goal to turn freight around.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can

successful, it’s because Compass Group scans its environment
and adjust accordingly in order to stay competitive and
profitable for the sake of its shareholders.

Mission Statement
“Everyone in Compass Group is committed to consistently
delivering superior service in the most efficient way, for the
shared benefit of our customers, shareholders, and associates”
Compass Group is a global business and although is a very large
organization made up of many entities with many different
clients as well as vendors and suppliers, the mission and vision
are set in place to promote personal and family values. The
mission is “Everyone in Compass Group is committed to
consistently delivering superior service in the most efficient
way, for the shared benefit of our customers, shareholders, and
associates” ("Compass Group Mission & Vision", 2017). The
mission speaks commitment to perform which means that in
order to do so, they must promote safety and health to everyone
5. from employees to the clients and community. Our customers
can only be amazed if we are consistent and demonstrate the
ability to perform our best when providing best quality and
value to our products and services.
6
Vision Statement
“To be a world-class provider of contract foodservice and
support services, renowned for our great people, our great
service, and our great results.”
Its vision is “To be a world-class provider of contract
foodservice and support services, renowned for our great
people, our great service, and our great results.” ("Compass
Group Mission & Vision", 2017). These are values that promote
professional standards which in turn create trust and respect for
all. A major goal is to set standards for quality and to always
have a win-win passion which are major factors when you want
to be a leader in the corporate world and be able to compete as a
major competitor not just in service but a leader in ethics and
responsibility. Making positive contribution to the community,
customer and employees helps the organization set its goal as a
whole and not just one section of the business.

Collecting Data
6. Competitors

Population

Demographics
Organizations are always encountered by opportunities and
threats. Environmental scanning helps identify those areas. In
this instance, Compass Group environmental scanning needs to
collect data about their organization and its goods and services
and then collect the same about competitors in the same or
similar shared markets ("Strategic Planning: What Are The
Basics Of Environmental Scanning?", 2012). The information
will then be used to adjust their plans and strategies to continue
to be competitive and profitable.
An important step in environmental scanning for Compass
Group is to learn how government affects local businesses and
how laws and the economy stand in any new possible market.
Factors such as population and the size as well as the
demographic where the new location should be established
("Strategic Planning: What Are The Basics Of Environmental
Scanning?", 2012). All these different factors are important
because Compass Group can learn how their competitors are
handling specific issues in the current local market share

Compass Group is made up of several elements in the food
industry market sectors to include Business, Healthcare,
Education, Sports and Defense (Food is Our Passion 2017). The
organization provides solutions that offer mutual value to the
client as well as the organization and still stay cost effective.
Currently, Compass Group operates in more than 50 countries
with over 50,000 clients (Food is Our Passion 2017). Compass
group employs over 500,000 employees and takes pride in
serving over 5 billion meals per year. Paul Walsh joined
Compass Group in 2014 as the Chairman. Followed by several
8. executives such as Richard Cousins, Dominic Blakemore,
Johnny Thomson and eight others helping him run the many
sectors that compose the organization. Compass Group
corporate culture is described as “Acting Responsibly”. A
major focus of this organization is the commitment to enforce
that the welfare of the farm animals used in their global supply
falls under “Responsible Sourcing Strategy” (Food is Our
Passion 2017). These types of commitments bring back to
focus in employee behavior. The importance of having an
enthusiastic team is what brings the passion to the clients and
also opening doors to employees to advance within the
organization with possibilities in over 50 countries.

Strengths & Weaknesses

9. Compass Group like most organizations has strengths as well as
weaknesses. A major strength for Compass Group is that it is
listed in the London Stock Exchange and the Financial Times
Stock Exchange 100 Index which supports their continuous
growth, but also helps the shareholders feel motivated about
their investments and the employees know that they are part of a
well financial driven organization (Compass Group Swot
Analysis, Usp & Competitors, 2017). Because it has been
around for over 75 years, this is an excellent example of their
strengths as it helps the image of the company with great
history behind its processes and robust financial position
(Compass Group Swot Analysis, Usp & Competitors, 2017).
Another major strength is the quantity of employed individuals
currently running over 500,000 and growing. These amount of
employees create many positive effects, from great talent to a
ton of input, which Compass Group uses as it listens to its
employees ideas.
It is considered a world leader in food and support services and
continues to grow in emerging markets. But with strengths
sometimes organizations face some down fall. One weakness
that was very public was the allegations by the United Nations
about bribery in UN Contracts (Kundnani, 2006). It settled two
10. lawsuits for 40 million pounds with the two competitors that
claimed losses over 600 million pounds. Another weakness that
has put a dent in their ability to entitlement of best services was
the claim by Canadian prisons that their food services was way
below food good quality which in turn affected their brand
image. One of the claims by the prisoners was that they were
being served raw eggs and that equipment was down all the time
(Collins, 2016).

Internal environment factors
Innovation

Dedication
The internal factors that build from the external efforts are
much greater in strengthening the organization’s image and
encouraging the employees to be motivators and enthusiastic.
Innovation in food creation and improvement in support
11. services has kept Compass Group as the world leader in the
shared market. The organization surveys its employees and
listens to its clients. It grows because their commitment to their
investment in their internal factors and the dedication to keep
external factors under control and well supported.
11
External analysis
Market Strategy
Customers
Government
Economy
Public Opinion
An organization can be affected by the external environments.
These types of factors are beyond the reach of an organization
because the business can lack function from the effects of these
elements. Some factors can be addressed by adjusting the
marketing strategy, but other may require more drastic
adjustments to be in compliance. Factors such as customers,
12. government, economy, competitors and public opinion are
considered the external environment (Root III, 2017).
Customers can be influence by making changes or redirecting
marketing strategies to regain customer confidence. Ultimately,
it is best to know and understand the customer more closely
because this will help you influence them in obtaining the
services Compass Group offers. On the other hand, government
can become rather costly. Because of regulations in State and
Federal laws, these can affect the cost of doing business.
Compass Group has set pricing for their services and it
guarantees their services at the cost agreed upon signed
contract, but the profit margin can be drastically reduced if
government enforce new legislation that would cost money to
get up to standards.
Profit margin is also connected to the economy. Compass
Group must constantly review and monitor changes in the
economy. For example, avocados and meats have recently been
affected by the weather’s damage to land, therefore their prices
have sky rocketed. These changes may affect temporally, but
hey can last longer than expected and the business will have to
adjust how it serves its clients if there is no room for
adjustment. But competition can also affect the way the
business will need to adjust their pricing (Root III, 2017).
Open markets where competition is minimal might be ideal to
startup new locations, but for the most, it is what happens to the
13. competition that allows the market share to shift. Competitors
may be affected from public opinion. Something drastic could
have taken place within the organization and clients do not want
to deal with organizations that have negative impact in
partnerships (Root III, 2017). Therefore, public opinion is
important to upkeep because it can affect the way new and
current clients view the organization.
12
General & Operating Environments
Six Segments
Political
Economic
Social
Technological
Environmental
Legal
14. PESTEL analysis refers to the six segments that are within the
general environment of an organization. Political, Economic,
social, technological, environmental and legal are the segments
for each letter of the analysis ("The Elements Of The General
Environment: Pestel Analysis", 2017). For Compass Group,
the political can refer to taxation and tariffs changes for
importing or exporting of goods used each day such as fruits,
vegetables. Any additional fees paid can affect the bottom line.
Economic factors can be driven from how the GDP adjusts each
day or how the unemployment rate fluctuates. But it can also
refer to as how much money or cash flow an organization has to
use for services and this can affect how new businesses are
acquired, but also how current businesses are lost due to lack of
cash flow. Social factors are those that derived from trends
whether it is from age, ethnicity or cultural status. Compass
Group has been successful at functioning in a large
demographic area and continues to grow.
Technological factors are those that as new technology becomes
available, organizations promote the use of them and sometimes
are connected to the environmental factors which can put a
business at a loss if the competition is offering a more earth
friendly use of technology alongside their business. But also
following the legal factors such as safety, employment rights
and healthy work environments are examples how well an
organization will develop public relations in the long run.

Power of Media
Compass Group has some external factors that affect its growth,
image and production. One external factor is the importance of
growing the organic business. Although it is growing
incrementally, its venture in continuing as a world leader in the
food industry it’s important to be sustainable in all areas
possible to include recyclable programs. Another example of
external factor that Compass Group has encounter is the power
of media as they encounter bumps in their growth. Because of
previous issues with the UN and claims of breviary to get
special contracts, the recovery and cleanup of organizations
image is crucial to the continuous growth

There are several potential business strategies Compass Group
USA can rely on since it has many different departments with
different functions which are required for the organization to
run efficient. Coordinating daily activities is a very common
business level strategy (Vitez, 2017). Management is
responsible to get staff to view and perform according to the
goal requirement. The idea is to be able to function as one,
even though there are many staff members and departments
involved. Another strategy at the business level is the proper
utilization of the Human resource department. The organization
17. needs to run budgets adequately and in order to do so, it is
important to have the proper labor force available to accomplish
what is required by each department. The importance of the
Human Resource Department is the ability to recruit the right
personnel for the right job specifications.
Compass Group USA must separate themselves from all other
competition. To do this, it is crucial to develop distinctive
strategies. These are factors that separate the organization from
the others. Such things as product, services and reputation are
competitive advantages that will allow Compass Group to be
successful (Vitez, 2017). Everything from patented unique
products to specialized services that are not offered by anybody
else are perfect examples of how the budget can be well
invested while still being cost effective so that it can attract
more consumers and potential clients (Vitez, 2017). Compass
Group offers several types of services, such as food service and
facilities management, but other competitors offered very
similar services. Finding niches in the market share by
modifying a service to be unique, or making the organization
available in areas where others are not willing to extended their
services will separate them from the competition as Compass
would have identified the market niches that others won’t touch
or just plainly have missed the market opportunities.

18. Corporate Level Strategy
Organizing
Implementing
Resources
Performance
Value Reducing
Redirecting Resources
Strategizing at a corporate level is ideal for Compass Group.
The organization is made up of several identities so their
corporate level strategies are already in place and working in
the growth of the company. The organization continues to
acquire new companies and merge them in the organization. A
Value Creating strategy seeks out to gain market share in the
fields that their competitors are situated (Bradley, 2017). The
idea is to add value to the organization by using the power of
the entire organization to reduce the cost of goods and services
across the border, but maintain efficiency at top level. But also
19. adding value by offering additional services or goods that the
competition is not offering (Bradley, 2017).
Another corporate strategy that adds value to the organization is
the Value Neutral Strategy (Bradley, 2017). Pressing
importance in reducing risk and maintaining a steady cash flow
are crucial to allocating the correct amount of manpower and
proper resources needed to stay competitive. On the other hand,
the Value Reducing Strategy can help the organization address
any concerns with stakeholders feeling like the upper
management are getting over paid or jus the organization is
getting too big (Bradley, 2017). Focusing and redirecting
resources to the right demographics and not looking into
expanding in areas that may not be beneficial are examples of
what Compass ca do to address such concerns.

20. For Compass Group, global strategies can be complicated
because of the food and support services it offers may not be
the same across the world. Unlike technology such as a
telephone or a soda that is the same anywhere you go, services
can be complicated due to culture change and other
demographic factors. However, Compass Group can adjust to
globalization by understanding and learning from the
demographic areas it is interested in expanding. Food Services
can be learned and brought into place just by understanding
what sells and what the competition is offering. Compass Group
has done very well in expanding to Countries such as Mexico,
United Kingdom and other European countries. The
organization has been successful in all these demographics
because they have been able to adjust to culture, taste and
operational needs.

Expand Services Beyond Food
Because Compass Group is already a very large organization
with many locations and clients all over the world, it is
important to pull back and recognized the importance of
keeping stakeholders assured as well as content with the results
of the organization. The Value Reducing Strategy is defined by
the support needed from the CEO and all Upper and Senior
management. A well balance payroll of those who are high in
the chain of command can ease the questions of why it is so
important for stakeholders to understand that capital is being
routed to the right departments and to maintaining clients and
staff happy and not on overpaying salaries. But also practicing
the Value Creating Strategy will continue to be the force on
generating new businesses and partnerships that will help the
22. growth of the organization, but also maintain all current clients
happy that they are partners with an excellent service provider
that main focus is to provide the best possible services with
focus on sustainability and profit both for its clients,
stakeholders and organization’s members. Compass Group will
continue to grow and expand the services it provides. Seeking
future accounts and business it can acquire to gain market share
are crucial to the expansion of its services. Providing
innovative ways and focusing energy in technology are just
ways of client retention through the use of business, corporate,
and global strategies that will help take market share.

Expansion
23. Presentation – Many millennials are visuals shoppers and for
the most want to buy what they like without the disturbance of a
sales person telling them what to buy from their display cases.
Because strategies are changing and the way accounts are
acquired, sold and bid upon, a digital and interactive system
would allow accessibility for the client and the consumers.
Products and Services – Introducing more innovative products
and services. Allowing the clients to choose a wide set of food
choices and use the experience gain in other countries and
cultures and offer that to new and existing clients.
Expansion - Because Food services, Janitorial and Facilities
management come in hand on most occasions. Compass needs
to explore the possible expansion into other logistical areas it
can provide further services.

27. Since 1994, Compass Group USA continues to acquire new
organizations and adding them into their world portfolio. The
commitment to excellence does not lessen or weakened as it
grows. In fact, the need for improvement get stronger and
better each time. “The World Bank defines Corporate Social
Responsibility as “the commitment of businesses to behave
ethically and to contribute to sustainable economic development
by working with all relevant stakeholders to improve their lives
in ways that are good for business, the sustainable development
agenda, and society at large"("The Ethics Of Corporate Social
Responsibility", 2013). Environmental scanning reveals what
the competition is doing and it helps the organization develop
strategies to better themselves as well as to stay in competition
s well as to stay profitable. Compass Group continues to grow
and acquire new business and as long as it is growing, it will
have to continue examining its external, general and operating
environments in order to maintain a competitive edge among its
known rivals. Understanding how internal and external factors
can affect the performance as well as the client retention is key
to the organizations continuous growth. Many opportunities are
available to maintain, such as keeping all companies in federal
and state standards, but also global requirements. Investing in
28. employees and generating positive work environments will keep
the company whole. Innovation and growing sustainability
internally but also promoting it externally with its partners are
fundamental to the growth in the global supply. The
commitment to provide the highest quality to all customer
including all support services along with focusing constant
efforts to make a difference in the market share will grow the
confidence in the client list and any possible new businesses.
Compass Group will continue to grow and expand the services it
provides. Seeking future accounts and business it can acquire
to gain market share are crucial to the expansion of its services.
Providing innovative ways and focusing energy in technology
are just ways of client retention through the use of business,
corporate, and global strategies that will help take market share.
