The SIHLE program evaluated a curriculum to reduce HIV/AIDS, STIs, and teenage pregnancy among minority girls ages 14-18. 13 girls participated in 4 sessions conducted by facilitators at their high school. Facilitators educated participants on HIV/AIDS, STIs, and contraception. Pre- and post-evaluation surveys found that 3 of the 4 objectives were achieved, including increased knowledge of pregnancy and STI risk prevention, but there was no improvement in attitudes supportive of consistent condom use. The evaluation recommends reevaluating the curriculum or improving facilitator recruitment.
