Scientific Projects Participations
Participation in scientific project "Arsenic in plants: uptake,
accumulation and tolerance acquisition”, which performed in
co-operation between agriculture faculty, Alexandria university and
Arabian- Swedish co-operation program (Swedish-MENA
Research Link programs) under supervision of Dr. Markus J.
Tamas, Associated professor, Department of cell and molecular
biology/ microbiology, Goteborg university- Sweden.
Through this project we perform, tissue culture techniques and
DNA cloning, evaluation of Arsenic levels and obtaining new
genotypes o plants which resistant Arsenic via genetic engineering
and biotechnology techniques.
2- Participation in scientific project In vitro production of
Pharmaceutical Plant Products by means of Biotechnology,
which funded by Academy of Scientific Research (project code:
ARGV-08-01).
To produce new Wenka plants (for production of vincrystine active
anticancer therapeutic) via genetic engineering techniques, Wenka
plants, we applied tissue culture techniques, fermentation steps,
applied molecular biology technique (SDS-PAGE, ISSR, RAPD
finally, applied bioinformatics tools for mining vincrystine genes.
