A chaplain is a person called to minister to those in need physically, mentally, or spiritually by bringing spiritual nourishment and living their life in a way that shows God. Chaplaincy includes prison ministry, homeless chaplaincy, hospital chaplaincy, and more. The author believes their calling is in homeless chaplaincy based on their experience and enjoyment of prison ministry and work with the homeless, as chaplaincy involves caring for those in need as described in scripture like Matthew 25:40 and James 1:27.
