Question #1

One thing you learned and
are excited about
 I learned about the basic architecture of web sites
 HTML is the content and structure. CSS is the presentation. They are named cascades because they work
using a hierarchy. Javascript is the interactive layer.
 I learned many basic life skills (eg. the need to protect your own rights and clarify expectations with
your clients by creating a schedule of events)
 Search tactic: number + an adjective or two + a noun (eg. 40 late-night restaurants)
 I learned many words in this class
 Web design terminology (margin vs. padding, etc. etc)
     Integrated development environment
     Re-imaging
     Transmedia
     Pseudocode
     Post-privacy era
     Civil disobedience
     Soft skills
     Semantic web
     Agnostic
     Open ID initiative
     Provocative vs. offensive
     Rapid prototyping
     Scrum
     Deck
     Social capital building
     Social learning strategies
Question #2

One thing that still eludes you
I HATE CSS
 …although I finally figured out DIV boxes
  and IDs 
 I’m not good at Sprites
 I missed the class on forms
Question #3

One thing that someone else
did you loved
 I love Camille’s website. She only really uses four colors but the simplicity
    makes it attractive.
 I love Camille’s humility and friendliness.
 I love Nelson’s humor and benevolent nature.
 I love Saruta’s confidence.
 I love Irena’s bluntness. She’s adorable.
 I love Marianna’s gentle nature and positivity.
 I loved Nelson’s 7 Things presentation. Learned there are new PPT tempaltes
    available.
 I loved Sasha’s moodboard. Learned about Olioboard
 I love Mr. Pollock’s unending commitment to the class, his practical and
compelling teaching methods, his unconditionally supportive attitude, his
willingness to share all his resources, and his constant effort to help his students
improve their lives, to broaden people’s horizons, and to make the world a
more alert, aware, critical, and open-minded place.
Question #4

One resource you found for
this class that you cherish
 I’m obsessed with Web Inspector. I like
being able to take a website apart and
analyzing how the designer did something
 Zen Garden
 W3Schools http://www.w3schools.com/
 CSS Tricks http://css-tricks.com/snippets/
 Color palettes
  http://kuler.adobe.com/#themes/rating?t
  ime=30
Question #5

What will you take into the
summer/fall from this class?
 I have a newfound appreciation for the skills
of the web designer. It takes a special
mindset, level of creativity and organization.
 Although I don’t think I will ever be good at
CSS, I am now equipped to write the HTML
itself. In the future, I plan on creating
    wireframes, moodboards, IA diagrams and
the content, then work with a web designer
to achieve the look I want.
 I plan on reading a book on CSS
