This project analyzes the importance of international human resource management for multinational firms operating in different cultural contexts. It discusses the challenges of transferring an employee from Singapore to Shanghai, China, and managing the relocation of the employee's family. It also examines the challenges that "third culture kids" whose families relocate frequently face in adjusting to new environments. The project recommends that companies implement cross-cultural training programs and communicate policies clearly to help expatriate employees and their families better manage cultural adjustment.
