- #4 Basically a person who does not have one special learning style that stands out over a different learning style. Most people are considered multimodal because usually people use different learning styles due to different circumstances Vark- Type One- These kind of people are able to use different learning styles due to different types of situations. VARK Type Two- According to the VARK Website, these kind of people use everyone of their different learning styles to gain information about a certain subject. Take longer to gather as much info as they can.
- #5 These kind of learners learn better when they can visually see the information in front of them. For example visual people like to use charts diagrams and graphs in presentations because that is the best way that they feel they can get the information across Visual learners are also better described as Graphic learners which deal with patterns shapes and different colors. From experience I have learned that if I color or highlight certain words, I am more likely to remember what I have read
- #6 This is the main learning style the people choose. As you all know many professors prefer this method by lecturing and writing information on whiteboards. In the real world it is critical that everyone is able to read and write because it is one of the main things that employers look at when hiring individuals. Many of these types of learners like to use power-point and research papers to get their information across. Many of these kinds of learners like to refer to books, diaries and thesauri for reference and to gain more information about a certain topic.
- #7 According to the VARK website, the definition of Kinesthetic is ,” perceptual preference related to the use of experience and practice (simulated or real). These kinds of people want models and demonstrations to provide information because it makes them feel like they are connected to reality. A kinesthetic learner learns by feeling something concrete based on a certain topic that way they know it is real and they can make a connection with it. Kinesthetic learners like models demonstrations, simulations and videos to help them learn.
- #8 While in college I have been able to grasp these different learning styles. All professors like to teach a little differently and if you have a variety of different learning styles it can really benefit you. I consider myself as a VARK Type Two learner which is someone who uses more than one learning style to gain info on a certain topic. I like to gain as much information as I can that way I can fully understand the topic. Usually the first few weeks of having a new teacher is difficult for me because I do not know what to expect. After understanding the teacher and what is expected, I can easily apply the best learning style that deals with the topic at hand. Finally the use of all of the different learning styles can help me succeed and become more successful in my college career.
- #9 You will not only use the learning styles in college but in the future as well. From talking with close family friends of mine, I have come to the conclusion that when you are in a job situation, you are still learing different things every day. It is critical that you stay on top of the different learning styles so you can succeed in your career. Also I have experienced that in everyday social life people are always learning something new from their peers so these different types of learning styles can play a part here as well.
