1. The Pete Rose Memorial
Little League Field

2. Rationale
Weare, NH has only 3 usable Little League fields
◦ There are three different divisions that use these fields:
10U, 12U, and 14U (WAC, 2010)
Schedule conflictions and rain delays would be
less of a restriction for completing the season if
another field was built
◦ Each division has multiple teams, varying from 4-8
teams. Add in the practices and the games, it is difficult
to schedule each practice and game
3. Mission Statement
“To provide another Little League facility
in Weare, NH where kids can practice and
learn the game of baseball with the
highest, safest, and most up to date
equipment in Little League.”
4. Who Will Use Facility
The Pete Rose Memorial Field will be used by
local Little League baseball teams for practices
and games.
◦ Time slots will be filled out before the season begins.
Extra use with the facility could be AAU
tournaments and regional Little League
tournaments
◦ This will be a potential option as of now. Bidding for a
tournament and the signing contracts with teams would
need to occur to begin the setup for a tournament
(generate interest)
5. Use of Field (cont.)
The Little League baseball teams of Weare, NH
will have priority over anyone else using the
field.
◦ Individual practices with parents and coaches and AAU
baseball will be second to the Little League team
considering the teams are essentially being built for the
Weare Little League
6. Staffing Needs
Commissioner
◦ Person in charge
◦ Oversee head coaches in the league
◦ Making sure there are head coaches for each team
Head coaches can assign there own assistant coaches
◦ Also make sure umpires are assigned for each game and
makes sure they show up.
Volunteers for Concession stands
Grounds Crew
◦ Basic maintenance of the field
7. Funding
We will take out a loan to cover half of the expenses
at the start of building the Little League field.
◦ After completion, we will begin to pay the loan back over a
5-year period.
The field will be financed by sponsorship rights
that we will establish with different businesses.
◦ We will offer field space (i.e. signs along the home run
fence) to promote their business in exchange for
revenue.
The field will also be funded by fundraisers and
donations from outside parties, including parents
and corporations.
8. Revenue/Expenses
Sponsorships
Also, the concessions will be a major source of
income for the field as well.
◦ The concession stand is there for customer enjoyment
but it is also there to keep the field financed.

9. Liability
The liability concerns of daily operations need
insurance for any issues that might come about.
◦ “Any organization which handles other people’s children
and allows the public to come in as spectators is liable to
be taken into court if accidents occur. If the suits are
justified, the insurance program will settle and pay all
claims up to the maximum limits and provisions of the
plan.” (Little League.org, 2010).
