The international festival provided an opportunity for the author to teach others about their home culture of Venezuela at a shared table with Ecuador and Colombia, focusing on food, dance, history and interesting facts about each country. The author enjoyed answering questions about the similarities and differences between the cultures. The festival also benefited the local community in West Virginia by exposing them to diverse cultures and creating more tolerance since the state does not have much international diversity otherwise.
