women to live in a chamber
underwater for 14 days to
study the aquatic life.
• She wrote for National

the public how pollution was
affecting the ocean.
Lady Bird Johnson
• Former U.S. First Lady, she did a lot of work for
the environment during her husband´s
presidency.
• She is famous for the
Highway Beautification
Act, which planted
gardens along the
highways of the U.S.
• She is remembered as one
of the most influential first
ladies in U.S. history.
