This document contains the results of a finite element analysis project on cantilever beams. It includes the deflection of beams with different numbers of elements under lumped and consistent loading. It also compares the translation and slope of beams modeled with different numbers of elements to hand calculations and finds them to be similar. In conclusion, the document demonstrates that increasing the number of elements in a model improves the accuracy of results for lumped loading, and that FEA, hand calculations, and stiffness matrix methods give similar answers.
