The morning of 9/11 started like any other day at FDNY Ten House, located at Ground Zero. When the first plane hit the North Tower, Ladder 10 was first to respond. They encountered obstacles like crashed cars and injured people on the way. In the tower lobby, firefighters helped many injured civilians despite the dire situation. After the second plane hit and both towers fell, firefighter John Morabito survived the collapses by finding an exit amid the rubble. In total, 343 firefighters and many other first responders and civilians lost their lives in the attacks.
