What is it?
Tinnitus Balance noise generator is a feature available in all
Phonak Audéo Q RIC hearing aids across all performance levels.
It produces broadband noise to reduce the annoyance of
tinnitus and can be activated in all automatic programs as well
as independently in any additional manual program. It offers
three different default noise shapes to choose from:
• shaped according to hearing loss
• pink noise
• white noise
The manual programs are fully customizable to support your
tinnitus management philosophy such as Tinnitus Masking or
Tinnitus Retraining Therapy.
Why use it?
The noise produced by the Tinnitus Balance noise generator
provides a means of sound enrichment that can be used as part
of a tinnitus management program. Being an integrated feature
in Phonak Audéo Q hearing aids, it allows clients to both manage
their tinnitus while receiving the benefit of Binaural VoiceStream
Technology™.
How do I use it?
Select the [Tinnitus balance] tab in the [Basic tuning] section
of Phonak Target™ and click [Enable noise generator] in all
relevant programs. You can choose the appropriate [Tinnitus
balance shape] and adjust level and shape according to your
client’s needs or your treatment philosophy.
[Fitting] > [Basic tuning] > [Tinnitus balance]
