- 1. Famous Person Cereal Box Project Starting today you will be doing a project on a famous scientist or inventor. Over the next two or so weeks you will be collecting information about this person and then creating a new type of cereal based on the information you find. On the box, you will have historical and factual information about the person. Please have an average sized cereal box, 12+ inches tall, 7+ or so inches wide, and 2+ in. deep, at school by Friday, May 15th. I will provide, colored paper, glue and scissors as well as materials need to print information. Everything on the box will need to be typed and make sure your box is covered with either white or colored paper before you start adding information. What your box needs to look like… Front of Box: (50 Points) Design a cover for your cereal box. Include the name of the cereal along with a picture of the your famous person. Invent a name for your new cereal. It should have something do with your person. Include pictures of what your cereal pieces would look like as well as a picture of your famous person. Think about the designs cereal boxes have. Things that should be included: • Invented name of your cereal • A picture of your famous person • Famous figures name • A quote that the famous person said • Picture of what your cereal looks like • The front should be attractive and have lots of color Back of Box: (50 Points) Design a game that is based on your person. It could be a puzzle, a word search, a word scramble, a maze, a crossword puzzle, a hidden pictures illustration or any other fun activity that might be found on the back of cereal box. Make sure it includes things, facts, new vocab., etc, about your person. Provide the answers to your game somewhere on the box. Right Side: (25 Points) On the right side of the box you will create a time line that includes at least 6 events in the person’s life. Two are set – Birth date as well as date of death, if they are dead. Make sure you use complete dates, Month, Day, year. The other 4 events are up to you. Make sure they are significant events in the person’s life. You may draw this by hand or use a word processor. If drawing by hand, make sure to use a ruler and be very neat. Use the template found on the science information page of the class website. Left Side: (25 points) On the left side of the box write a short summary of why this person was important.
