Cycling has several benefits over other modes of transportation for short trips under 5 km:
1) It is often faster than driving or public transportation due to not having to find parking and no time spent sitting in traffic.
2) It provides health benefits such as reducing risk of disease, improving mood and concentration, and helping meet daily activity goals.
3) It saves money on transportation costs, freeing up funds that would otherwise pay for gas, parking, and vehicle expenses. Encouraging cycling also reduces infrastructure costs.
TRANSPORTATION
We provide a transfer service from all the major points of arrival for Sikkim & Darjeeling - (Bagdogra Airport, New Jaipalguri Railway station, Siliguri, Kakarvitta, Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Phuntsholing, etc.). We can take you to any hotel in Sikkim/Darjeeling & drop you back to the places mentioned above. We strongly recommend that you book your transfer with us in advance for several reasons
To avoid the hassle of negotiating with taxi touts who will be harassing you for your business as soon as you step out of the airport / station / border town on the first day of your holiday
The car you book will be reserved for you – you will not be expected to share with other guests
Our drivers will be happy to stop along the way so that you can take photographs, have tea or just soak up the atmosphere unlike independent taxi drivers who will want to rush back to Darjeeling to get more business.
Our rates are very competitive (compared to other hotel rates or the charges levied by independent taxis, who often hike their rates according to demand) allowing you to travel with the confidence that your transfer to / from the hotel is all taken care of.

There’s a brand new world for you to discover when you get in the saddle, whether you’re cycling to school or riding around in your free time with your mates. :)
Changing workplace cultures is part of the strategy for sustainable strategies: Move from a workplace ‘culture
of attendance’ to a ‘culture of performance’. Telstra’s Group Manager for Environment, Turlough Guerin reinforces this culture shift when he says: “Work is something you do, not
somewhere you go.”

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Save Time Gosford & Woy Woy Station Cycling Catchment Area (15min/5km) Bicycles can be faster than any other mode of travel When travel time is measured from door to door for short-distance trips up to 5 km long on a congested urban road network, bicycles can generally be faster than any other mode of travel. When travel time is measured from door to door for short-distance trips up to 5 km long on a congested urban road network, bicycles can generally be faster than any other mode of travel.
3. Get Healthy The importance of physical activity and cycling to health Cycling can help you get your recommended 30 minutes (2x15min bike trips) of activity per day, and help you: control your weight reduce your risk of chronic disease. reduce stress and depression. improve concentration and sleep. tone and strengthen muscles. improve energy levels. Figure 2:Schematic illustration depicting the relationships between physical activity and health benefit. Adapted from Bouchard, 2001 The direct cost of physical inactivity to the Australian health budget in 2006/07 Was $1.49 billion
4. Save Money It makes good economic sense to encourage more cycling. The cost savings to society of substituting Bicycle trips for short car trips can be of the order of 60 c/km, including: Reductions in the cost of providing parking (It costs about $45,000 and 30m2to provide a car park . Based on Woy Woy commuter car park) Transport makes up 16% of the average Australian family’s budget, a similar proportion to housing and food costs. Running an average car in NSW costs between $7,500 and $16,800 a year. (a bike costs around 1% of that amount. 42.4 % of Gosford the households owns 2 or more vehicles, often used to park a commuter car parks) By cycling, save at least $56.10 and 4.8 hours per week – even more if parking costs and current fuel prices are considered.
5. Save the Environment Cycling is a sustainable mode of Transport and friendly to the environment. About half of the greenhouse gas emissions produced by an average Australian family are from transport. In urban areas motor vehicles are the main source of air pollution Using bicycles to replace short car trips… means: Less energy, less pollution, and less space for cars and roads…. A city…that is designed for higher levels of cycling can be cleaner… less polluting… and a more pleasant place to live.
6. Cycling becomes safer when more people cycle, bike paths and lanes are provided and the overall speed of traffic is lower. Motor vehicles are the most significant Source of harm in the transport system, and pedestrians and cyclists bear a disproportionate burden of traffic risk. Road safety is increased by shifting people out of cars and promoting cycling, walking and public transport. Be Safe Cycling has lower injury rates than most other forms of sport, exercise and active recreation– see Figure 1.
