The study examines the sources of financing for shopping center development in Lagos, Nigeria, revealing that most developers primarily use equity funds and are largely unaware of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Data collected through questionnaires indicate that while equity funds are deemed the most suitable option, developers face challenges due to limited available financing options. The study recommends the establishment of a supportive framework for REITs and the formation of an association for retail developers to foster collaboration and improve access to financing.
