The study evaluates rubber seed oil as a non-consumable binder for foundry sand cores, achieving an optimum baked strength of 1829 kN/m² with a mixture of 3% rubber seed oil, 7% water, and 0.5% cassava starch. The research highlights the potential of utilizing rubber seed oil, which is typically wasted, for improving the economic viability of local foundries in Nigeria. Findings suggest that optimal baking occurs at 160°C for 2 hours, with excess oil leading to weaknesses in produced cores.
