Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - Who decides what's next?Alex Nusselt
Introduction to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion during Macromedia Mentoring Program KickOff 2021
Focusing on industrialization, digitization and a changing society
20 quotes from Larry Page...Just analyzing Larry Page’s quotes from the past ten years is a guidebook for “billion person success” and for personal success.
In the past, communication with remote colleagues has been notoriously bad. The connections were rarely good, we couldn’t see each other, and we often found ourselves around conference room tables hunched over a spider phone yelling “Hey Bob, it’s Lisette. Can you hear me?”. Some of us still do!
But in the last 5 years, technology has come a long way. And it’s time to take another look. In this interactive keynote, we will explore how people and companies are organizing themselves to work remotely. You will hear stories of digital nomads, virtual entrepreneurs, global business networks, and robots. After this session, you will walk away having learned how to work online as if you were in the office together.
Youth to Business Forum is an event that takes place in multiple locations around the world, bringing top young leaders together with business leaders, thought leaders, and experts for a conversation around pressing global issues with the aim to generate new, but most importantly, actionable ideas to that will impact the world and its future.
This is the presentation I used for the Youth to Business Forum that took place in on 16th of May 2014, at the Bocconi University of Milano.
Using data visualization to increase engagement in learningKim Ducharme
5 Lessons Learned About Data Visualization from Middle-schoolers
— Using data visualization to increase engagement in learning
Presented at the Data Visualization Summit in Boston, September 12, 2013.
Abstract: Middle schoolers, a notoriously tough crowd to engage, actually have a lot to say. In this talk, we share lessons learned while creating online educational environments that put struggling readers in charge of their learning. Data visualizations were central to our process, affecting everything from how we operated as a group, to our research approach, student insights, and our design strategy. We played at the intersection of learning analytics, a rich network of reading content, and interactive dashboard visualizations. Our aim was to instill in middle schoolers the belief that they can grow their intellect and expertise in reading, to engage them in taking control of their own goals and progress, and support them in having a deep experience with text.

Great design isn’t about beauty; it’s about knowing the right questions to ask, uncovering the right places to look, and agreeing on the right problems to solve.

Explaining SSI to C-suite executives, and anyone else for that matterSSIMeetup
https://ssimeetup.org/explaining-ssi-c-suite-executives-anyone-else-john-phillips-webinar-48/
John Phillips from 460degrees in Australia has been exploring with his team for more than two years for a way to describe Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) that was easy to understand. We think he has found a good method to make SSI easy to understand for any C-suite executive and business people that goes beyond the technology.
John published a video in late 2019 that we found deeply insightful and we have invited him to share this with the SSI Meetup audience. This demo has been going down amazingly well with audiences from c-suite technology execs to design students.
This approach quite literally animates the discussion. People add other objects into the mix, move things around, ask relevant, insightful, questions.
John will share the learnings he is gaining from University research, as well as the results of work in supporting capstone projects for higher education students, and how this has led us to a storytelling model to explain SSI.

"If you love your content, set it free" ?Mike Ellis
Traditional business models have scarcity at their core: when something is scarce, it becomes valuable. Online, this notion is challenged: in a world where every one of us can copy and distribute content at the click of a mouse, notions of ‘scarcity’ become more and more distant from reality. Several commentators have suggested that scale – i.e. providing more access to ‘valuable’ content rather than less – is actually a more scalable business model for the online economy. This session will look at ways in which content can be freed, and will also examine some of the issues which follow around control and authority.
I was invited by the Teen Business Challenge to give a presentation on creating minimum viable products. The exercise forced me to utilize objects the students would be familiar with and illustrate how prototyping has been integral in business for the last 100 years. I then lead the group in a workshop to help them create paper prototypes.

In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability.
