1. Eye of the BeholderURI One Act Festival Costume Designs by Shannon Enander
2. This presentation will show the process I use going from finding inspiration for my characters to the final results. I am currently still in the process of making getting the costumes and finding the correct pieces, but will show what is accomplished thus far.
3. Leon Leon is a male model posing for two artists. He is supposed to be representing “man” as a whole. I found other art pieces that represented “man” for my inspiration. From these pictures I found the color I desired for his costume
4. Leon Leon’s costume is very simple. He will be wearing boxers for the entirety of the performance. I chose a neutral grey color for them as not to draw too much attention to them so the artists can focus on him as the model.
5. Leon Again, Leon’s costume is very basic, he will be wearing typical boxers for men, nothing different with the silhouette.
6. James James is a very uptight artist who believes in following the classic lines and procedures of painting. He is clean cut and is very intelligent. I found these pictures for inspiration symbolizing how he is very clean and narrow and he takes his art and life very seriously.
7. James James will be wearing a lot of black thinking that it makes him look more sophisticated as an artist. He will ultimately end up in his boxers, so I chose a simple blue boxer because he would not be the type to choose any undergarment that is too outrageous. He also wears simple black sneakers and black rimmed glasses.
8. James The silhouette of James’ costume is slender and fits more closely to the body. He shows his natural form just as he prefers to show the natural form of his models as well.
9. Barney Barney’s character is very spontaneous and random. He is the type of person who would roll out of bed and be ready for the day. To get inspiration for him I found pictures that had a lot of clutter and were messy. He knows where everything is, but to the outside world it looks like a disaster, but like how he is as a person.
10. Barney Barney’s costume is very random, just like his personality. Since he will also end up in his boxers, I gave his colorful ones to show his spontaneous personality. I also gave his mismatching shirts and cargo pants. He is also in a hat to cover up his messy bed hair and is wearing easy flip flops.
11. Barney This is the basic silhouette of Barney’s costume. All of his pieces are baggier and they will be more wrinkled.
12. More information and pictures will be added once my appointment in the costume shop is completed. I hope you have enjoyed a look into my process of costuming this show so far.
