1. Extracurricular activities
I value dance a lot and it is a part of my life that I cannot live without. Until now, I had
learned many different kinds of dance such as ballet, Thai dance, jazz dance and hip hop
dance. Especially, ballet is the most important one since I have danced it for more than
10 years.
The dance is not just dancing. It has a deep and strong connection with emotions. Since
dance has no words, it is important to put your emotions into your movement to express
the feeling of the dance to the audience. Thus, I always care about how I put emotions
into my dance as much as I care about the techniques. I said that dance has no words,
but it means only verbal language. Dance is about body language to communicate the
emotion of the dance to the audience. That is how the audience gets the knowledge
about the dance. The body language is intended to communicate something to the
audience (van de Lagemaat 50).
Additionally, when you are dancing, it is important to put facial
expression to create a feeling inside you and your dance. For example,
when I performed the ballet, Swan Lake, a strategic story, I had to
have a sad feeling since the story is tragic. To create a gloomy
feeling from inside of my heart, I always make sad face first since it
helps me to get a sad feeling. This example is connected to James-
