Students in a criminal justice class can earn up to 25 extra credit points by answering one or more of 10 essay questions on topics related to criminal law and the criminal justice system. To receive credit, each essay must be at least one page single-spaced, use a 12-point font, and cite at least two sources. Questions address topics such as the purpose of law, categories of criminal offenses, policing strategies, styles of policing, constitutional protections, search and seizure law, racial profiling, the development of the court system, stages of a criminal trial, and alternative sanctions.
